Sophia (Robin Proper Sheppard solo) + Malcom Middleton Live @ Casa 139, Milano 09.01.2006

I saw Sophia in concert in Cuneo in July 2004. Their tour was linked to the beautiful People are like Seasons, and I have an indelible memory of it. I saw Arab Strap at Hiroshima last December 26. It's easy to imagine how disappointed I am not to have been able to attend this concert, fully aware of its existence... I like how you describe Sheppard's way of playing (because that's how I perceived it too, that summer two years ago) and the atmosphere of the concert. The melancholic tones of Sophia, in fact, suggest listening in small doses, especially during rough patches... It's better to alternate them with the sharper (but no less fascinating) God Machine, where the other side of the good Robin emerges... If they come back in March, I’ll be there too.

More than an owl, I feel like a heron... We await signs of life, we poor little polka-dotted beings (stripes, you might be the one, perhaps you're filo-American), marinated and things like that... (hermaphrodite doesn't concern me, for me it's all about the cm). I'm going back to the Sfintere's songs.

I much prefer his best of: I think it's called Sfintere's Song... right Marié?

It sounds like a threat... Are you waiting to cover me in insults as soon as it comes out, if it’s not to your liking? I can’t wait. I need to hurry. Ah! But you... are you another one of those who Mariaelena sleeps with? I hope not for your sake...

Dante... but do you love me or do you despise me? And if you love me... how much? And if how much, in what way? And if in what way, why? And how do you know where I keep my nonsense? These are very personal matters, you know? Do you want to delve into the personal, just like that, without knowing me? Come on, you're making me blush...

It's always exhausting to read you, but for once you didn't take us on a nauseating rollercoaster of bullshit... but I swear the INNOVATIVE VENTILATIONS had me laughing to the point of tears... it seems like a slap in the face to end a review that was heading towards the acceptable. Sometimes I have the feeling/hope that you're just messing with us... I know that's not the case. But let me dream. Sweet kisses.

+ To me, a review feels like an anal eruption, dear rive. The kind that makes me want to engage with those who write with k's. We'll be drowned in shit if you and Mr. Nokia keep it up.

"Or there's also 'The Miracle,' a song that lasts 5 minutes and 2 seconds and, in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful by Queen, not taking anything away from the other great ones." I love you, you are my new prophet of grammar and syntax, superior to Mariaelena. Even if you're a fake, I don't give a damn. You're my new idol.

And thanks also to Cooloras... of whom we have no news... whether he is overwhelmed by crap or has taken off due to his meteorism... let’s start a blog!
