Metallica Ride The Lightning

The review set up like a "pub discussion" (with all the "I don't know", "I don't remember what it reminds me of") I can even accept, but reading that in this album it's only worth listening to "Creeping Death" and "For Whom the Bell Tolls"... well, that's a bit much. And then "Escape" the worst song... huh. In fact, these reviews written "by fans" leave something to be desired, but whatever... "the track ends with a fade-out" and especially "The intro is acoustic: very melodic" are pure trash apotheosis (not thrash, mind you!!!) That Ktulu reminds you of the black continent is a somewhat "original" opinion (?) (not to mention a BULLSHIT!).. um, what did you smoke? Come on, just say it... :)

@MaxMetal88: I listened to the first half of the album again yesterday afternoon, and you're probably right... the potential for great tracks is there, but they end up sounding "slow" and are quite unconvincing... perhaps we are just too accustomed to the style of the past! In any case, I think it's a good album.

I certainly am not the epitome of experimentalism, yet the differences between the albums are real: keep in mind that most fans would prefer them to be much more ā€œmonolithicā€ than they are...

I had heard "Terrestrial" a while ago, but I wasn't really impressed by the voice. This seems quite different, I'll give it a listen...

@lexus: "but can you explain to me how you can support their candidacy when the genre they proposed is trivial heavy metal..." candidacy = ? Why do you say it’s trivial? They have changed their sound many times throughout their career; try comparing "Killers" with "Seventh Son..." and then listen to "Powerslave" and "Brave New World". I’d like to spare myself the usual cliché "you haven’t listened to them properly": please explain better.

I'm enjoying it quite a bit, even though it reminds me a bit too much of "Dance of death." I don't think it will be easy for us to assimilate, in my opinion. Good review.

The problem with you all, in my opinion, is that as soon as someone questions the qualities of the DTs, or claims that they’ve been churning out the same stuff for years, or even points out that there’s so much better out there to discover and review, you go crazy. But why?

I'm just finishing listening right now... this is what you call "bread for my teeth," although it seems a bit underrated by you all... honestly, the electronic incursions seem really brilliant to me... it's certainly not a trivial job, dissonant, disturbing sounds. I like it! Good review PasMal, not much else to add, it has to be listened to... and if I really want to get depressed, I listen to something quite different... I don't mind the cover either, in the name of a resounding "enough" of epic little dragons, enchanted forests, and fancy princes on metal covers!!!!!

The orchestra is there, they are too, as always perfect, super talented, unchanged and unchangeable in their certainties in sixty-fourths, clearly as every fan expects and as tradition dictates. Honestly, though, I really can't understand the point of releases like this (from an artistic point of view, of course: from a commercial standpoint, it’s all too clear). They are publishing almost every concert of theirs, or am I mistaken?

I don't agree with what you write, and I just don't understand the discrepancy between voting and evaluation (maybe explain it better). If someone forced you (crossed shield in hand) to flush down your beloved CDs while shouting "Satan" and "bullshit for kids," I don't see why you would invite everyone else to give up the genre ("but if you listen to me, just leave it alone"). Are we talking about music, or am I mistaken?
