Great, it looks very interesting, I'll try to look for this album.

X Fairy Mistress, it's true, gemboys might be silly and childish, but the Profilax are truly pathetic animals; the fact is they survive thanks to mp3s, otherwise they'd never sell a single CD. As for the song "Essere donna oggi" by the Elii, have you heard how much technique is in the base of that song? It's nothing short of a masterpiece, and it's not true that it's not listenable by girls; in fact, it humorously addresses a human issue, but not like gemboys who joke about cartoons! What kind of nonsense is that!?

I didn't say it, but all the expert music critics say it: technically, meaning instrumentally, in terms of skill and ability, Elio e le Storie Tese are the second best band in Italy; the first is Pfm.
Cyndi Lauper She's So Unusual
Voto:
I just wanted to remind everyone that Cindy Lauper made an appearance in the Goonies movie, and as a tribute to this adventure film for kids, she created a beautiful song called "Goonies R Good Enough." It's not only become unpopular, but as far as I know, she also faced health issues and could no longer sing well. She was still a great artist.

But do you realize who the gem Boy really are?
When I was little, us elementary school kids loved to change the lyrics of songs and throw in some swear words.
Well, the gemboy do the same thing, except they’re not in elementary school and, as if that weren't enough, they’re quite pathetic musically. Grow up a little; if you want to listen to a real ironic band, check out Elio e le Storie Tese. At least they deliver gems and pearls in their lyrics, and musically they are the second best Italian band.
Sud Sound System Acqua Pe Sta Terra

I was only referring to the comments of those who say that the Sud Sound System sucks; I was saying that they are not a group accessible only to those who are into hip hop and reggae. What I meant is that to understand them, you need to grasp the reality they are describing, and the reality of the South is not what you wrote, which, on one hand, is true, but on the other is tainted with stereotypes. It's about what is missing; pizzica, mare, etc., are just manifestations of how a good Salentino lets go of problems like work (a young man graduates knowing he must seek work up North or, alternatively, go into military service), the mafia but understood as political mafia, the strange twists of the economy, failure, and the song that has now been violated, promoted, and dishonored "le radici ca tieni" contains the essence of the discourse: "if you never forget your origins, you also forget those of distant lands" or "They take everything away from you, even the desire to love, so that so many people have to react in mad ways; they take everything, even the ears to hear. There are those who cry and ask for help for the wrongs they must endure... we are sorry for everything you are taking from us, but we are still here since we were born."
Given that the South is just like the Jamaica of the South, the group also fights against prohibition and the fact that law enforcement, instead of investigating the dangerous international trafficking of ecstasy, cocaine, and heroin, prefers to handcuff kids with joints in their pockets. There are many more people fighting this cause here than there are, for example, in Bologna. But that's another story...

What a loser you are! You preferred to tell a bunch of nonsense and ridiculous anecdotes, giving a terrible reputation to Lecce and Salento in general. You didn't talk about the style of the songs on the album but invented a dialect that doesn't exist. And I tell you, as much as you might like reggae, you'll never understand the essence and energy that this album exudes because you are not from our part of the world. Besides, "Acqua pe sta terra" is the title of the album, and it talks almost nothing about the heat and drought. Moreover, this is not just reggae but an alternative reggae based on the "immpunnare" of the singers, especially Don Rico, who manages to do hip hop with a dialectal voice, and believe me, it's very difficult—not just to sing but also to manage to describe Salentino realities in verses and lines, realities that are based on the beauty of the places and the richness of the entire culture, which unfortunately cannot be too open because those damned northerners slander it with bad publicity, and the blind Italian economy from Naples down contributes to the daily problems of the people. "Sciamu a ballare" (I believe it's the seventh song on this album) is not as everyone thinks, a stupid ballad, but a song that makes it clear that we are full of dance hall, and there is fun out there that we have to seek out. Everyone who says, ā€œI’m moving to Milan because at least I can go out at night,ā€ is ignorant because they simply don’t want to admit that they are the ones submissive to society. The southerners want this; they want the Salentinos, who enjoy a bad image, to shout and rebel so that their roots can tell off those who leave to work up north and stay there without applying for a transfer just because (they believe) they have all comforts at hand, forgetting that they were born in a place full of culture, love, and roots. Among the various songs aimed at defending their origins, the southerners fight for the legalization of soft drugs, they fight against corruption and the swindling politics, and against all the injustices in our and in your state. The beautiful thing is that, unlike other groups that exploit the "anti-conformist" image to make heaps of money, the southerners, who are accessible only to those who truly understand alternative reggae (and if in Lecce they have become well-known even to the unfortunate kids, it's just because everyone has encouraged them, because they love seeing their fellow townsfolk succeed even abroad like in Germany), remain humble and modest. I went to Maglie to see them live during a charity concert at the Living, and I must say I was struck by how they all held hands, hugged, took photos, and signed autographs in such a calm and human way, without rushing to jump on stage to finish yet another night.
Stratovarius Stratovarius
Voto:
Well, well, well... what can I say, such a long time ago, Stratovarius was my favorite band, so much so that I still have the tattoo with the lily. But if they are no longer my favorite band, it’s for two reasons: 1) as you grow up, you start to realize that power metal is a bit like metal aimed at high school kids and 2) the latest album is the result of a major musical failure. Yes, it's true that metal music, and particularly power metal, teaches bands one thing, which is: "as you keep releasing albums, change your style more and more, or no one will buy your CDs anymore," and a typical example is Sonata Arctica, who went from the classic power album Ecliptica with easy choruses and mystical keyboards to Reckoning Night, which is more about fast hard rock. But I swear that the Stratovarius of Vision, the Stratovarius that drove everyone crazy with Black Diamond and Paradise, with Tolkki and Kotipelto getting along and creating absurd masterpieces like Forever Free or Coming Home, not to mention Millennium and Glory Of The World, well... those were Stratovarius, you could recognize them by their very personalized technique, and with the latest album, they now sound like a simple power band. The best remains absolutely Jean Jeanson, the keyboardist who has always been loyal to the band.

Litfiba Litfiba 3
Voto:
Litfiba, you were great, I would fix the situation; maybe you weren't the best rock band in Italy, but you could say you were among the only ones to compose ORIGINAL Italian rock. I definitely prefer the first album DESAPARECIDO, but until the album SPIRITO, you always made your mark. You faded away with the album MONDI SOMMERSI; perhaps the song "Regina Di cuori" commercialized you a little too early before you disbanded. Musically, the new Litfiba (Insidia, infinito, elettromacumba, etc.) aren’t bad, but that new voice really sucks; Piero Pelù made his choice, which was to compose for the masses. As Elio e le storie tese say in the album Cicciput, "Litfiba, come back together, do you remember that time that WAS? Litfiba, it doesn't benefit you, another life from Renzulli and PeLU', the music scene has been impoverished since your schism, we want your HUA back!
