I'm just saying that in my opinion, there’s some prog in COB, maybe it’s a Black prog or anyway it’s not the death prog of Opeth. But we're talking about Children, let's leave Opeth aside.

Do prog bands do nothing? Remember that prog is "Progressive" and it doesn't have to be what you think it is, like what Opeth does.... WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH IT! Even Premiata Forneria Marconi make prog! Prog is when the songs don't have that skeletal structure already predetermined, but when they start one way.... then continue differently, and the solos take the song down a different path that in turn branches out even more, and so on, ending in a unique way.

Even Elio e le Storie Tese make prog, it's absurd but it's prog, and King Crimson does prog. Forget about Opeth, they make a decadent prog like 10,000 bands before them did!

In my opinion, the Children of Bodom don't play and have never played Death Metal, but rather Prog Death Metal, which is different and characteristic. It's true, there isn't a single mediocre album by the band, and their latest one is really cool! You can even have a bit of a laugh listening to one of their covers of Britney Spears.
