The Australian Pink Floyd Show Live @ Stadio S.Vito, Cosenza 20/05/04

Well done, Cliff! Even though I don't know the band, you've piqued my curiosity! TO FRANTZ: when did you see Pink Floyd live? Because if you saw them without Roger Waters, then everything is Nutella compared to the crap they are!!!! Gigi D’Alessio is better than post-Roger Waters Pink Floyd; the concerts attract only nostalgic fans (and if they are at all critical, they leave disappointed...) and those who want to see lights and special effects!!!

MZ414ZM & company, I know what your argument is and how you think... first, you are familiar with all the trendy death - thrash - grind - black - nu metal bands, then you listen to Slayer, Metallica, Venom, Possessed and say that because they aren't the same or similar to today's bands they don't do death or thrash or black... you think backwards MZ414ZM, go back to school, and tell me who the Patareni or General Surgery are if we want to talk about extreme stuff. Anyway, I correct my stance, in the sense that I consider "Show No Mercy" roughly thrash, a little less "Haunting the Chapel," COMPLETELY death "Hell Awaits" and "Reign in Blood," the rest Death - Thrash, maybe this way we understand each other better but the review is of Reign... p.s. the great era of Metal definitively dies in '88 with "South of Heaven," "And Justice for All," and "State of Euphoria," the last masterpieces of the divine triad.

Sure, Greg, I'm also slightly provocative... and anyway, there are worse people than those you've just described: the ones who leave snarky comments on reviews that they might actually enjoy themselves!!! Well, let's just say it, the review of the review is still an excuse to have a little delayed chat between people of different ages and lifestyles... bring it on! It's always better than certain chatrooms filled with people who only know Laura Pausini and Vasco Rossi.

I agree with voiceface, young lust is one of the least inspired tracks on the album, but I hope Francesco was referring to the lyrics; it’s still a pleasant review! Regarding masterpieces, it’s always better to review them; otherwise, they die out, whether they are cornerstones or not. I wasn't born in '67 either, but I know Jimi's first album, for example, and my father, who was 17 at the time, doesn't—it's subjective! I say this because the eighteen-year-olds WHO are listening to The Wall TODAY haven't missed anything; listening to it today or in '79, I believe it's the same—am I wrong? The important thing is to know the classics and not to chase after musical trends like most young people do!

Alright, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds isn’t psychedelia, okay okay... I guess we have different opinions, it happens! Anyway, I don't find Penny Lane psychedelically either. I still can’t understand why you compare psychedelia to ā€œheavyā€ sounds. What do you think about the Grateful Dead?

Sorry man, the criticism was aimed at myself too! Usually, it's not just a group or an album that invents a genre, but there’s what is typically recognized as such, like "Nevermind" by Nirvana, which "invented" grunge, even though that's not really the case, right? There was also "Bleach" before! Fedo, your words are wise; the Beatles' pop is a different thing, enjoyable as well. For me, even "Lady Madonna" is ultra-psychedelic, I’ve had some trips!! P.S. I just saw the last message. Man, do you remember the ending of Sgt. Pepper's? You should like it (for me it's chaos!), you say "A Day In The Life" is psychedelia for your grandma, well, now you're the one becoming funny! My absolute favorite bands are Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd, but the fab four aren’t any less even if I like them less.

But no, puntinicaz, for me the psychedelic vein of the Pink Floyd dies with Meddle, I’m not my great-grandfather; I like Dark Side a lot, but it has nothing to do with psychedelia. The important thing is to agree on the term psychedelia. Maybe I exaggerated earlier when I said that sometimes the Pink Floyd make a mess (I also listen to Napalm Death, Carcass, D.R.I., so you can imagine I'm not a fanatic of sweet melodies like Nilla Pizzi!!) let’s just call them obsessive melodies, sometimes without head or tail or almost cacophonic. However, I would like to know if for you only pieces like "Interstellar Overdrive" and "A Saucerful of Secrets" are psychedelic, while for me, melodic pieces like "Flaming," "The Gnome," etc. are psychedelic too. You’re right about the 13th Floor, but I know them little; I didn’t know the date of the first album. Getting carried away with a single name for the birth of a genre can sometimes be misleading, and with this, I unfortunately agree with rebel!!

ah GREG you're wasting your time lazing in front of the computer criticizing others for their ego (myself included or me first, allow me some Latin to make me even more COOL!), you're worse than those who watch Maria De Filippi and Grande Fratello for the audience and then say "I WATCH THEM TO LAUGH"....IT'S NOT TRUE, THEY WATCH THOSE CRAP PROGRAMS BECAUSE THEY LIKE THEM BUT DON'T WANT TO ADMIT IT!!!

I agree with Bowie&Barret, I don't dislike the album overall; on a scale from 1 to 10, I would give it a solid 7, but from 1 to 5, it’s a 3... Historically, I put "the piper" and "a saucerful" on the same level, dear puntinicaz, and the current that developed for you from "the piper" was actually set in motion first by Sgt. Peppers, as mentioned by fedoinchains and myself earlier... but I wonder if you've listened to it? Or for you, is Sgt. Peppers not psychedelic? ANOTHER COMMENT FOR THOSE WHO SAY DOWN WITH DRUGS: WITHOUT THEM, NEITHER THE PINK FLOYD NOR PSYCHEDELIA WOULD HAVE EXISTED, and I don’t say this because I use them (just some joints in the past, which aren’t that bad for listening to music!), in my opinion, those who say that forget the conditions under which the Pink Floyd wrote and played, far from just joints... and it doesn’t change the fact that after Syd they ended up poorly, maybe it would have been the same without acid!!!
