I could be wrong, but the rock world is full of bands plagued by internal disputes and various issues. There are different ways to tackle the situation. Some write songs about it, split up or leave the group, and above all try to handle the whole thing very discreetly in interviews and statements (some allude to or avoid the topic; that doesn't mean they aren't involved or don't suffer). Others, provoked by those who have inevitably decided to place them under their protective wing (NME), seem to put on a brave face in bad circumstances: the band may not be releasing albums but is still on everyone's lips, and we know how important this is for maintaining lasting exposure in an era of disposable bands.

Hey djd, here’s another tip. The singer of Snow Patrol has recorded 2 albums under the name "Reindeer Section". The band features members from: Mogwai, B&S, Teenage Fanclub. The project is pretty good, very acoustic... I highly recommend it. Bye!

I found the soap opera staged by NME disgusting and bothersome. First, they call them "the best band of our generation" (a bit exaggerated, don't you think?) and then not a day goes by without them bombarding us with (useless) news about the rebel Pete and interviews with the "good" Carl about the future of the band. In my opinion, these two are reveling in a situation that has very little to do with music. All of this makes me biased against their music. "Up the Bracket" is a good album; I will try to listen to this one more carefully.

On the voice of the singer, I can see your point; I understand that it might not be to everyone’s taste. More than one person finds it whiny and out of tune. I think it fits the band's sound, especially during the more intense moments of the album. I don’t agree with Charles when it comes to Kelly Jones...bye.

I bought this album kind of by coincidence at the airport in London. I had my last 20 pounds in my pocket and it didn't seem right to bring them back home. So, intrigued by the cover and the buzz it's getting in England, I made the purchase. In my opinion, it's one of the best records of the year, and among the young bands that have emerged lately from the UK, they are the most interesting. I completely agree with your review. charles.

The album is great. I listened to the first one by Interpol casually, but I've been unable to stop listening to "Antics" at least once a day since I downloaded it. "Evil" is beautiful. As soon as I have the moneys, I'll buy the original. Nice review, sallu.

Charles, I'm looking forward to reading your review on the HopeOf... especially after you told me that you appreciate them too. In the end, we managed to convince Kosmo as well :-) In my opinion, the guys deserve a good bit of healthy and selfless publicity...ciaoz
Sonic Youth Sonic Nurse

Here is a group about which I profess my complete ignorance. I've always promised myself to dedicate some time to Sonic, but I've never really done it. From this album, I heard a song on radiorock (those from Rome know it) (I don’t remember the title...) and it was interesting. Kosmo, your fantastic review compels me to carefully listen to Sonic Nurse... I'll let you know afterward... best regards.

Kosmo for the Keane, I agree with you, in my opinion, they are given too much consideration. On the other hand, Hope Of The States are valid; their debut album is excellent, and I praised them in a review (link www.emotionalbreakdown.com/recensio ni.asp?id=149). Cheers!

I was also bombarded by Snow Patrol in Ireland and Scotland this summer. But to be honest, I don't find it that disappointing. Decent album. "please don't go crazy if i tell u the truth..."
