"Effect" (Damn Word!)

Suggestive but a bit brief. I would have liked you to talk about the musical level as well, just to give an idea. Certainly, your comment is nothing short of enticing and generates great curiosity around this album. If you can provide a sample, it would be pure gold, although from what I understand, it's an album that needs to be listened to in its entirety for it to have an "effect."

Exceptional album, even though I slightly prefer "Flowers of Romance." The rating I gave is a 4.5 rounded down. But does the metal case reissue really exist? I must have it!

Sorry for any inaccuracies, but I'm not an expert in this genre, as I've already hinted in the introduction of the review. For Zion: thanks for the vote, but what do you consider to be the "death" date of Drum'n'Bass?

I'm eagerly awaiting the review, perhaps with a couple of samples.

But in John Lennon's time, were there CDs?

Easycure, I would have loved to see your opinion on "Wild mood swings."

Thank you for the phrase “despite the young age” mariaelena you really make me feel young :-) You might find it incredible, but for me, "Faith" is also the best album by the Cure (closely followed by "Disintegration"), and I'm thinking of writing a review for it since there isn't one. If "Seventeen Seconds" was still a bit immature and "Pornography" a little too “theatrical,” the middle album is, for me, in perfect balance: a mature and austere sound, suggestive gloomy atmospheres, and songwriting in a state of grace. However, I don't disdain the pop version of the Cure, even though I find them “lesser” compared to the albums from their early phase. The greatness of this group has indeed been to create a particular style of their own (let's call it dark) and then gradually commercialize themselves by making high-quality pop songs. Very few in history have succeeded in excelling in both fields: Pink Floyd, for example, were good at creating their own style but fell short when they tried their hand at “normal” songs.

The beginning of "Push" is quite reminiscent of "Dancing with tears in my eyes" by Ultravox, don't you think? It's a GOOD record, but with a more curated tracklist (a statement that applies to almost all their albums) it could have been a GREAT record.

Oooops! Sorry Mariaelena, I confused "The Passion" by Mel Gibson and then I realized you were talking about the film by Martin Scorsese, I read it wrong, maybe I'm losing diopters! Indeed, you're right, I was little (88 if I remember correctly), but I remember that film stirred quite a media storm.
