Bublè will definitely sell 100 times more of this album, even if he makes the same music. The power of photogenic appeal and advertising!
Depeche Mode Some Great Reward
Voto:
"Blasphemous rumours" and "lie to me" are actually not bad, nor is "Something To Do", but in my opinion, there's nothing that reaches the level of "Photographic", "My Secret Garden", or "Everything Counts", just to name a few. There are acclaimed music critics (Mr. Piero and Mr. Stefano Isidoro) who consider this the best album from our band, but for me, it's the weakest. De gustibus, or rather De-De-gustibus.

sorry for the mistakes, Manzoni is turning in his grave.

This album doesn't convince me: there isn't a single track that truly strikes me like all the other works by DM, and instead, there are some really poor drops like "Somebody," a simple-sweet love song that even Elton John could have written, without any sound or arrangement that elevates it from the banal. And then there's the tacky "People Are People" with that cliché chorus that you could expect from Tears For Fears or Heaven 17, but not from Depeche. Some things are pleasant, but I prefer everything that comes after and everything that came before this album. Rating: 2.5
The Cure The Cure
Voto:
I agree with the vote but not with the review. I don’t know if the Cure really gave the fans what they wanted; Robinson's production has been very controversial. Honestly, tracks like "Lost" or "Us or Them," I don’t know which Cure album you’ve "heard them already." The biggest flaw of the album is the presence of too many easy and uninspired pop songs.
Cocteau Twins Treasure

But among all the CT albums that still needed reviewing, did we really have to pull out Treasure again?
The Sisters Of Mercy First And Last And Always
Voto:
Despite being a fan of Wave, dark, and similar genres, this is a gap (not the only one) in my personal collection. I listened to it in the store and it wasn't bad, but always due to the "nice but there's better" mindset, I've always bought something else. One day I'll get it, for now I'll settle for a few mp3s.
AA.VV. The Crow Soundtrack
Voto:
At this point, I’d like to mention a couple of dark films as well: the one said to be the Japanese response to Eraserhead, namely "Tetsuo" by Tsukamoto, another black-and-white nightmare with a plot that varies according to the viewer's interpretation. And then there's one of the most beautiful dark fairy tales ever: "Alice" by Jan Svankmajer, the grotesque reinterpretation of the already grotesque "Alice in Wonderland," featuring both live-action and animated characters (in the style of "Nightmare Before Christmas"). Unfortunately, it's not available in Italy, and one has to import it to obtain a copy.
The Doors L.A. Woman
Voto:
The fact is that there is no zero to vote for "Bella di Padella." Let's say that if the rating were out of ten, I would give this Doors record a 3. It's a matter of taste.

I will try to make this sacrifice too, but it will be difficult. A friend of mine who had a double version had given it to me, but then I passed it on to another friend because I didn't like it at all. However, I doubt that listening to it again now will turn my 1 into a 3.
