As usual, Argento has some good visual ideas (like the shot of the killer's eye) that, however, drown in a sea of mediocrity. The ending is ridiculous both from a cinematic perspective (the culprit is a cameo) and a logical one (the culprit is an individual who had free access to the hospital's archive, and it made no sense for him to go there at night and also kill the guard).

It's funny that in the comments of "Year Zero," some Nine Inch Nails fans justify the lackluster performance by saying, "what do you expect? Reznor is 42..." Genesis P. Orridge is now 58 years old...

Indeed, aside from the special lights and a few staging tricks, the film is nonsense. A simple succession of murders. The ending, with Death personified as depicted in the Middle Ages (a skeleton dressed in black), is truly trash.
