Joy Division Closer
Voto:
Ooooops, I forgot to mention the Gang Of Four, another "little" new wave band that is insignificant and overrated.

I quote Ubik, and I completely disagree with Easycure; the English New Wave was a forge of heterogeneous masterpieces and novelties: Joy Division, Siouxsie, Sound, Josef K, Cocteau Twins, Public Image Ltd, Human League, Young Marble Giants, The Fall, Japan, Psychedelic Furs......and indeed, The Cure! Strange that such criticism comes from you, Easy. It’s a bit like if a Genesis fan said that English progressive rock is all fluff.

Well, I would say Kung Fu Fighting by Carl Douglas or Fly, Robin, Fly, The Best of Tavares, Ali Shuffle, Disco Inferno, something by Cerrone, or Boney M like Ma Baker, Daddy Cool, Rasputin, Disco Duck, Gimme Some, something by Oliver Onions like Sandokan, Orzoway, or Cuba by the Gibson Brothers.....
Vincenzo Natali Cube (Il Cubo)
Voto:
Original subject, the first part is good, too bad for the American-style jokes thrown in here and there that irreparably ruin the atmosphere of anguish and claustrophobia that was cleverly created. And especially, what a pity for the very clichéd ending with the classic "hard-to-kill bad guy." Too bad, it could have been developed better, but it's not to be dismissed. Half successful.

Come on, Vortex! It's you who gave 5 (five) to "Fourth Drawer Down" by the Associates, and now you're trashing this album because you find it sad and whiny? There's something off here.

Oooops! I just noticed something: you gave 2! So much for "two of the worst nights of my life"? I'm sorry, but I have to take a point off you.

Anyway, given the sacrifice, I hope for you that besides the ass it was also beautiful everywhere else.

What wouldn’t one do for a bit of hair... anyway, I understand you, I also had to endure the chilling "Notre Dame de Paris" by Cocciante for the same reason.

The review is a pleasant joke, but I have the CD and it's not bad at all for me. Sure, Xymox might be a bit excessive in their gothic, somewhat baroque and self-indulgent atmospheres, but musically they are anything but predictable. A good mix between early dark and 80s electronica.
