I fully agree with metallaro. This album was difficult to bring to life and despite everything, it turned out more than well. It is true that it contains a bit of the grunge wave that was spreading at the time, but it can't certainly be said (speaking of REM, precisely) that they made it after much thought. I think we all know enough about this album to affirm that it arrived during a moment of too much fame/crisis, sudden voices and deaths, and that it, therefore, contains a bit of all this. What followed was the most turbulent tour they had ever undertaken, from which their absolute masterpiece was born.

Just to clarify: the Monster Tour dates in Italy were actually five, and the illness (specifically an aneurysm) that Bill Berry experienced occurred on the date following the Italian shows in Lausanne, Switzerland. The concert in Catania, organized by the great and now sadly missed Francesco Virlinzi, took place in August. A historic date, as the Radiohead were the supporting act. As for the album: "rock and sexy."

It's all good, yes! I now it's overhead, I really like it a lot. I saw them for the first time in London as supporters of R.E.M., very talented.
Hey, what did you mean when you mentioned the 1000 bodies piled up referencing R.E.M.? So, do you think we’ll be squished in London too? Did they play Let Me Sleep (next to the mirror)? I know they don’t do it anymore because it was dedicated to one of his exes....
I totally agree with American English... gorgeous is an understatement, but it also drives me crazy, and maybe even more so, Live In A Hiding Place!
