the last decent album of a band that has been making formulaic music for at least 15 years

It is evident that we have absolutely divergent opinions.
Roger Waters Amused To Death

Well... he adds that for the first time he feels in a record (listening through headphones) a carriage that crosses your brain transversely, punctuated by a light electric guitar arpeggio, covered by a soft carpet of keyboards, followed by the incessant chatter of ordinary people and the hoarse and dreamy voice of Waters...

I agree with primiballi...even though I don't entirely agree that the record wouldn't sell today...
Queen Rock Montreal
Voto:
Well, a clarification for all the picky ones who disdain Queen: we must remember that Queen, until Freddie Mercury's death, was a niche group in Italy. In contrast, in the rest of Europe, Asia, and South America, they were considered a huge, absolutely non-commercial band. Even in the 80s, when the quality of production visibly dropped, they were not at all likened to stuff like Spandau Ballet or, even worse, but were still among the rock legends. Then unfortunately Mercury died, the Italians woke up, and the terribly sad necrophilic business of the last fifteen years began. That said, albums like Innuendo, A Night at The Opera, or Jazz are jewels of pop music that still pale in comparison in terms of creativity and interpretation to the vast majority of musical production from Elvis onwards...voiceface...in the mood for epic clarifications...

Once, these recordings were called bootlegs, circulating in the unofficial circuit and ending up on the turntables of die-hard fans... now, however, the rights are reacquired, they’re polished up and go straight to the store shelves to be fed to an audience that is now starving for crumbs... pitiful.

i Pooh, an inexplicable phenomenon, four good voices, an excellent guitarist, three other skilled musicians, a full-time lyricist behind the scenes, great creative flair... all in service of music that, alas, sounded old even at the time of recording... what a pity... they will remain in the history of Italian music, but if they had been born in London, it would have been a different story... great review, a good and very dated album.
Ringo Starr Photograph: The Very Best Of Ringo

The review is a good curtain on an artist who is undeniably famous... you insist a little too much on the frivolity of it all...
Max Gazzè Un Giorno
Voto:
I would be inclined to check out Gazzè's latest albums, as he has remarkable abilities that he might not fully exploit... I agree with the reviewer on the general observations.
