"Yes, I still listen to the albums from the big bands of my childhood on CD-ROM." Beautiful phrase, I nominate it the best of all time on DeBaser, just like that, off the top of my head.

I can’t rule out having already written this, but I’ve liked Jackson Browne (I even went so far as to steal one of his records) ever since I discovered that "Una città per cantare," sung by DeGregori-Ron-Kuzminac—a song that continued to play alongside "Mi piaccion le sbarbine" on the juke-box at the Sardinian campsite where I was vacationing a billion years ago—was actually a cover (with lyrics completely modified from the original by Lucio Dalla) of his beautiful song (The Road). Later, after painstakingly and at great personal risk gathering all of Jackson Browne’s albums, I found out that the song wasn’t even his, but actually by Danny O'Keefe. So, having almost come of age in the meantime, I stopped believing in God and changed my music tastes as well.

The only one who doesn’t suffer from dizziness and feels no fear of any kind, after all, is the Most Reverend and Gigantic Sfascia Carrozze, as everybody knows. It’s just that after passing the Test of Casu Marzu, it’s hard to keep any fears at all.

"A lot of people think Mohawks aren’t afraid of heights; that’s not true. We have as much fear as the next guy. The difference is that we deal with it better. We also have the experience of the old timers to follow and the responsibility to lead the younger guys. There’s pride in ‘walking iron.’" — Kyle Karonhiaktatie Beauvais (Mohawk, Kahnawake)

Of this photo, which is still very beautiful, I've always thought:
1) that the framing cuts out many things, making the beam appear "suspended in nothingness" much more than it actually is. This does not take away from the beauty of the photo, nor from the skill of the photographer; on the contrary;
2) that the workers have no reason to sit on a suspended beam while eating, except to create an interesting photo; which… see point 1);
3) that the idea of Indians who don't suffer from vertigo is a ridiculous notion.

I don't know, I found it a bit boring. I definitely preferred them at the beginning of the century.
