Come on, guys, a little creativity! There are a billion albums to review, old and new, good and bad. What’s the point of fixating on the same ones for so long? What I wanted to know about Radiohead, I’ve already learned; a couple of well-done reviews are enough, it doesn’t make sense to keep repeating the same things. It’s like watching the news recorded on video ten times. No one is stopping you, of course, but the deducible information remains the same. Unless someone is so masochistic that they enjoy Mentana, and then they want to rewatch it endlessly... COME ON, LET YOUR IMAGINATION FLOW, GIVE ME NEW INSIGHTS, I want to expand my musical culture. Bring on the next review of Radiohead... I’m waiting for nothing else... Tell me what Yorke usually thinks about when he’s preparing a nice cheese and ham toast! Tell me the name of his little dog! But please, don’t come back to tell me what the tracklist of the band is, I beg you!!!!!!

While when you use words you can better justify the value you assign to each word. For example: if "disk" is a sufficient disk and I associate with it the idea that the disk is quite fresh and sparkling, I will give the impression of a disk that is still interesting. If I say it is sufficient but I expected much more, then I further diminish it and make it clear that, while it remains sufficient, I don't like it. I hope I've explained myself decently, and I would like you not to misunderstand me further.

It's just that, I believe you haven't considered that the scale of judgment, the standard of comparison, is based on the same numbers. A 3 for you is exactly the same as a 3 for me or anyone else. Someone who has never heard a record in their life reads that Marina Rei is a 4 and sees that Lou Reed is also a 4. So, lacking any other information, what do they do? They think they hold the same value. I'm not disputing that you might really like it; I’m just asking for a little more caution in using ratings that could confuse newcomers. But please: don’t respond by saying "de gustibus etc, etc" or tell me that it’s impossible for anyone to have never listened to a record. We are in the realm of hypotheticals for now, so my reasoning seems to hold up. What do you think?

Federico, and to think that I believe I’ve been the only one of your supporters for the freedom to review whatever you want. Ah, no, sorry, Hal is with me and you. Well, if you don’t WANT to understand (even though you COULD) understand, it’s not my fault, do as you like. I’m just a lucky one who has been listening to Tracy's songs for years both at home and on the radio, and every now and then I catch some videos on TV too. And with the band, we used to do a couple of covers to make our singer happy. The others you mentioned, I simply don’t like and don’t listen to. But I don’t stop you from reviewing them. Just don’t get angry if I comment saying I don’t like them, even using harsher terms. That is, no more words needed.

Always keeping in mind that "setting rules" does not mean (I quote) "bending over backwards"... It simply means finding criteria for evaluation to which, by convention, we conform. If there were no traffic laws, I could drive at 200 km/h all the time, but who would guarantee me a minimum level of safety? Having the widest freedom of thought and speech ensures that I won’t have to endure pressure from anyone, but who guarantees that this truly benefits my culture and my education in the musical field? I’m not saying that censorship is right; on the contrary, I am fiercely opposed to it. What I am saying is that I don’t like absolute anarchy. Let's start having mutual respect (I, too, have made some incredibly foolish comments, but that’s that; do as I say, not as I do), let’s begin by respecting the basic rules of coexistence in a society (even if virtual), and then we will be ready to evolve. And evolution will be spontaneous; it won’t be planned or forced. Thus spoke Mr_Iko.

De-Baser has gotten out of hand for its founding members... but I believe that this was, if not exactly their goal, at least a fleeting desire. Of course, I don’t know the exact number of pages visited daily, but I do know that for the past two years the number of reviewers, commentators, and mere visitors has increased exponentially. Now, rationalizing a group of, let’s say, 100 users is one thing; simple rules suffice, even customary consolidation (repeated use of the same behavior + opinio iuris ac necessitatis). But when the members of a society become more than, let’s say, a thousand, and their joining is progressive rather than simultaneous and contextual, the simple rules of coexistence that emerged spontaneously are no longer enough. I believe we need to evolve towards a more complex system of norms. However, the problem still to be solved remains, and it is a very simple question we must answer: QUID IURIS?

ooooohhhh, finally! It was high time for a review on Radiohead! In fact, I was wondering why there wasn’t a single one on this site! ABOUT TIME! What the hell are you doing, Radiohead fans, not writing anything about your idols! And as I write, a sad feeling arises deep within me, gripping my stomach like a punch in the gut. I try to shake it off, but the sensation has turned into pain, more and more pain, never-ending. I go to the bathroom to vomit; Radiohead have gutted my bile.

Kurz, my dealer is quite discreet; he doesn't like me to casually give out his number... you'll have to settle for getting high on my words... maybe not high, but maybe a bit dazed...
