The Desert Sessions Desert Sessions, Vol 9 & 10

The language used is poor, and the mere fact that it was deliberately written in colloquial Italian does not justify a good reading nor compensate for the lack of references. Do you want the truth? This review seems to have been written by someone who has never actually listened to the album, except maybe in a mega store at the listening stations, and who has gathered some fragmented information here and there, using it randomly. Reviews? The real ones are not like that. SURELY.

"Compared to the previous sessions 7 & 8, these are better overall: more stoner, less punk (I have no sympathy for Olivieri's punk digressions), there are fewer two-minute fillers used as padding, in the end, true rock triumphs." -------- "Okay, sometimes it's acceptable to use very vulgar Italian you’d hear in a bar, but it seems to me that here we are overdoing it; there’s no style, there’s no refinement, and besides, it’s still not clear what the hell is being talked about." "For those who at least want to get an idea, mandatory tracks include crawl home, dead in love, in my head... or something, and subcutaneous phat. In particular, this last one sounds a lot like mexicola by qotsa in the intro, a song I adore." -------- "So what if someone has never heard the song by Queen of? Do they just make up the album's content?" "To conclude, long life to those who still make quality albums and, after releasing a masterpiece like Songs For the Deaf, can still put out another high-quality record while goofing off. There are people who take years to release then awful albums. JOSH I LOVE YOU SO." ------ "Okay, so what’s the conclusion? What is there to conclude given that the argument hasn’t been developed? And what’s this contradiction of goofing off leading to a great album? Honestly, I didn’t understand anything about the album, except that it’s of the stoner-rock genre (the part that matters least to me, as I am against genre classification)."

"Here I am again to review my beloved stoner rock, after creative interludes like Urdury: once again, Josh Homme rules!! I am very surprised that this masterpiece of an album has not yet been reviewed."--------- Qualifying introductory sentence: the reader is not introduced in any way to the review, and the literal level is decidedly low. "As many might know, in the desert sessions, god Josh every now and then finds himself in the desert near Joshua Tree with all the friends he hasn't yet smoked tons of marijuana with, and so saying, given the genius properties of Our Man and his friends, true gems arise for the delight of the fans. Just think that in 2003 alone, Josh appeared on no less than 9 albums, and not for ego trips. Closing parentheses."------Leaving aside the fact that a parenthesis is CLOSED BUT NEVER OPENED and that the level of Italian used remains poor, the content of this sentence does not say anything relevant about the album, and the references are absolutely misleading. "This time, the guests are PJ Harvey on many songs, Dean Ween of Ween, Mark Lanegan (no longer just a guest now), and many others. Especially PJ proves herself greatly by perfectly blending her voice into the desert sound: excellent Crawl Home (the first single), with Homme’s backing vocals that are better than LSD."------Well, let's TAKE THIS AT FACE VALUE, even if it's unclear where the reference to LSD comes from.

You're really full of yourself! Your arrogance goes so far as to blind you and pushes you to react like a cornered mouse: you stand on two legs and show your teeth. If you can't accept criticism, how can you consider yourself a critic? The fact that I make you feel nauseous saddens me, but it doesn't change the fact that this review is truly awful. Terrible.

Why not? Look, your character is quite "atypical," so it intrigues. I align with your silence on genres. LET'S ABOLISH GENRES, THERE'S ONLY GOOD MUSIC AND BAD MUSIC!
