Lorenzo Arruga, Dave Lombardo & Friends Vivaldi: The Meeting
Voto:
I confirm Hal's opinion on Vivaldi: in fact, of all his works, only the Four Seasons are remembered; everyone else couldn't care less, even classical music lovers. Moreover, I want to clarify that classical music is not "reviewed" in the traditional sense of the word but is "listened to with guidance," meaning that specific musical notations are presented to help the listener engage with the movements. I don't believe there are "reviews" of the Eroica, but rather listening guides to better focus attention on details that would otherwise be hard to recognize. To Elena: thank you, your charm is remarkable. Don’t worry about what I write, focus on having your personality and following your ideas. The rest will come naturally, without the need to force anything. I wrote that comment because I personally don’t feel capable of writing something that isn’t redundant or obvious, even though I’ve listened to a lot of classical music, so Cliff, who is ten years younger than me and loves metal... I adore Chopin, Mahler, and Bach. Then do as you like... Smile because even if it rains today, life is beautiful! Take example from Cleo's vivacity (Monday morning included)!

Long live David Byrne because 1. He has the coolest nickname of all 2. He has a good heart too 3. He has a musical culture that few possess 4. He has enviable self-control, matched only by Hal (two "Franciscans" for the price of one) 5. He is sincere and doesn't sow discord unnecessarily. Long live DB (David Byrne, and then Db is also David Bowie...!) and db is also De-Baser. Long live the dbs of all Italy, islands included.

Cleo loves me so intensely that she even mentions me when I have nothing to do with it!!! But I take great pride in this (in her love) and boast about it. Now I'm off to crush someone who has nitpicked a review of mine. Long live Cleo!!! If it weren’t for her naive, genuine, and immoral goodness...

not arrangements but arrangements... obviously!

Well, to be honest, I don’t see you ready yet to listen to such complex arrangements. I might be wrong, but I know Vivaldi well (you don’t explain whether these are truly rock reworkings of Vivaldi’s compositions, so I’m going with my gut) and I believe that among the Baroque composers, he is one of the easiest to listen to and consequently one of the easiest for transposition, also considering the musical education of the final listeners. I suppose, I guess.

Now, after reading The Bassist's comment, I'm laughing out loud. Really! A hug to my friend Bassist! (and don't get mad for mocking your nickname!) :-D

Watch out for Rivo’s keen eye: He doesn’t miss a beat! Great Rivo, who first uncovers the flaw! Rating 4 for Rivo, not 5 because he’s too ruthless. :-D

I saw Daniele Silvestri at the Festa dell'Unità in Modena five or six years ago. At one point, he did a cover of a John Lennon song, Ticket to Ride, I think, and my friend and I yelled at him (we were right under the stage): "Great John Lennon!!!" Silvestri looked at us and replied, "Yes, great John Lennon." At that, my friend Fiore (who was with me) and I got so excited like never before (it was a time when we listened almost exclusively to The Beatles...!) and we kept shouting "Great! Great John!" while he basked in the moment. However, in this idyllic scene, there was an unfortunate incident: we realized that out of a thousand people, we were the only ones to recognize it was a cover of John's song! In fact, we looked around and saw the astonished eyes of the crowd, who were clearly showing their surprise as they looked at us. No one had guessed that it was a song by the Fab Four. But my goodness!!! What kind of world are we living in??? A thousand people and no one recognizing a Beatles song??? This is one of the reasons that makes me detest Italy and Italians.

Nice Veronica! Thank you for the lovely comment! Humorous people are always welcome! :-) Even though your sharp satire is of very low level... P.S. Thanks for the 1 in the report card, I needed that; sooner or later I would have lowered my AVERAGE BY MYSELF. Now I'm off to say hi to Federica, now that you've reminded me... Groooling!
