Anyway, 5/5 is definitely over the top. People exaggerate about everything! Both for good and for bad... if this album is a 5-star one, how many stars is Sgt. Pepper worth? 500? Incalculably superior. Once in a while (really, VERY FEW TIMES) masterpieces come out that deserve to be praised. I believe OK Computer is a masterpiece deserving of 5/5. But by giving the highest rating to every album we like, we only end up inflating the ratings, risking to lower the overall quality of the reviewed albums. More balance, for heaven's sake!

Non-polemic note from Mr_Iko: "jotting down the first thing that comes to mind" helped the Beatles (Ian McDonald mentions it in the biography The Complete Works regarding the White Album), the Pink Floyd who recorded ALL the improvisations only to discard the worst ones, David Bowie who tells us how some of his songs came about by chance (he would wake up in the morning, hear a melody buzzing in his head, do a bit of coke and alcohol, and by evening he would compose) etc... "Jotting down the things that come to your mind" is the great difference that distinguishes the greats from the mediocre. I Said.

As my musician friend (crazy), a huge fan of RH who saw them in Verona (and had a complete orgasm during the live show), always says: "I think Kid A and Amnesiac are the A-side and B-side of the same record. If they had unified their release instead of spacing them out by a few months, it would have been the greatest album in history. As it is, they’re great on their own, but not as if they were joined."

Small NON-POLEMICAL regression. Publishing is not always a scourge of society. On the contrary, sometimes the press can help temper and limit the excesses of the three institutional powers. As with all things, virtue lies in moderation: there are good writers, bold journalists, and excellent critics, just as there are unfortunately many journalists living off bribes, non-independent thinkers, children of utilitarianism and trends from which they can derive personal benefits. This site is at the TOP because it allows, fully in compliance with the ever-quoted Article 21 of the Constitution (Everyone has the right to express freely their thoughts through speech, writing, and any other means of dissemination. The press shall not be subject to authorizations or censorship... -continues-) a free expression of one's judgments. Frank Zappa's statement is correct, but it is nothing more (truly in the Zappa spirit) than a grotesque and clever assertion of truth. I simply believe that A) it is always right to sign one's name B) one must always add something, never just throw a stone and hide the hand. Final non-polemic note: as a scholar of the history of European law, as far as I remember (and the text by Adriano Cavanna supports my idea), NEVER has anarchy generated peace and tranquility. Beware of being subjected to unachievable ideals because they conflict with the nature and essence of human sociality. Even on a "liberal" site like this, there must "necessarily" be rules of coexistence; independence cannot be painted as a pure rejection of all rules. Thus spoke Mr_Iko! Hello everyone! Lou Reed is still a great!

Why didn't you write that it's a quote? By the way, I don't quite remember who it's from. If you can do better, why don't you show it? There's always room for the best...

Rivo's review is simply TRUE: an album with two decent songs and a sea of yawns. Predictable stuff. Two stars... maybe even too many.
