Yes, Styx has placed some singles in the upper regions of the American charts.

Kansas and Asia received their due recognition, while for Styx and Saga the problem was the same: they had no market. Too cerebral for pop lovers, too linear for prog enthusiasts.

A small clarification: AOR stands for Adult Oriented Rock, while the term Audience is overly generic. The band, along with Styx (another relatively unknown band) and, to some extent, Asia, represented the bridge between the monumental 70s prog and the easy pop of the 80s.

On the line of Fintroll and Korplikaani. I always wonder why your reviews, impeccable from an aesthetic standpoint, are never considered "recommended."

...one can say that everyone brought a little something from their own band... Well, I would say that everyone contributed something from what they used to listen to regularly in the past, back when they weren't famous yet, especially Genesis and Yes. It's the classic supergroup, but very, very derivative.

Well, basically you've reiterated almost entirely what I wrote. Yes, let’s say there are small stylistic differences between the various albums, but Rhapsody have never revolutionized their sound by perhaps delving into thrash or any other genre. From Rhapsody, you can't expect a sound revolution like Helloween during the Chameleon era, if you know what I mean.

I would have liked to write this review myself, but I still congratulate you. A stellar band despite their short career. If you haven't already, I invite you to read my review of Gothic Impression by Par Lindh, where many of the same Anglagard members played.

Well, if it's not exactly the same, you still can't say it strays too far from their typical sounds or, at least, from those of Symphony 2, where the symphonic element almost overshadowed the metallic one. The orchestra is beautiful and present, while Turilli and Staropoli do their honest work and nothing more.

Editors, could you please correct the rating? I intended to give 4 stars. Thank you.

It should be added that Shawn Lane was also an excellent pianist and composer. The real surprise of the album is definitely him, managing to even overshadow Frank Gambale.
