Great review... I like how you immerse yourself in the shoes of the unfortunate protagonist waiting for help that will never arrive. It's not Carpenter's best, not on the same level as Escape from New York or In the Mouth of Madness, but the remake does quite well. Excellent Lovecraftian reference... At the Mountains of Madness tells of an expedition to the poles...
