As SUpersoul says, one must tread carefully with American progressive as it is often mixed and diluted with country or AOR, a classic example being Kansas. Let's say that lovers of English progressive would find it challenging to assimilate, except for Echolyn, of course.

With all due respect, but this wave of metal bands with female singers, all the same, is just too much to handle. Honestly, if there’s one genre that deserves to disappear, it’s definitely symphonic metal, which has been recycling and self-recycling for years without leading anywhere.
