Deftones do not restrict themselves to this or that genre, but instead draw inspiration from various formations, creating a unique blend in the world... we indeed find the crossover of Korn, the romanticism of certain English bands from the '80s (like The Cure, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran), the compressed hardcore of Helmet, those guitar sounds that Tarry Date (the producer) has also managed to pull out in the past with Soundgarden and Pantera, the emotional depth and suffering of Tool, the anger and ferocity of Sepultura and Slayer, and the sweetness of Radiohead. In short, a complete band.
