After reading The Punisher, I found myself thinking: oh boy. Does he have a point? But what’s the point of separating a song by Bugo from Bugo’s music? Even the core of an apple is worthless on its own. I took a simultaneous glance at various critics, not in search of answers... but rather serious critiques that I expected to be harsh. I don't know... everyone seems to praise it a lot. Blow Up gives it the maximum rating. Rockerilla too. Buscadero rates it excellent, just like Rumore. Damn... thank goodness our punisher brings us back down to earth... also thanks for the splendid exegesis of ggell.

dear punisher... listening to a record doesn't mean understanding its meaning, as your comment demonstrates. I don’t love Bugo, but I recognize his fluctuating, raw value... at times embryonic yet so striking. However, I see that, as always, the tone of discussions dwindles into insults... which is why I don’t frequent these chats willingly. debaci to everyone

to talk about beck for these sounds means not knowing either one or the other.... alas. enough with the clichés....

thank you hal, thank you really for each of your reviews.
Vinicio Capossela Ovunque Proteggi

You are right, Hal... the literary references are numerous, cultured but not snobbish. The musical references create an infinite and delightful labyrinth. It grows immensely with each listen. Medusa is amusement made notes. What splendor...
Just one question: ribot grafted onto Waits' blues makes the guitar speak (hoist that rag). The same thing never happens with Vinicio. Why? Vinicio is no longer blues at its core. Waits always is... even when he invents cubist funk... which is just a game.
Everywhere protect... what intensity.

I have the fortunate misfortune of living close to him (same street, same house number) in Milan. You often find him around, even if less and less in the places you’d expect. He hardly ever goes to house 139 anymore, except late on Monday nights if Vincenzo Costantino is there. He even brought back the piano he had lent to the Union; he’s also rarely seen there now. At Goganga out of friendship with the owner, and rarely at Arci Bellezza or in Via de Castilla.
However, I often find him in one spot... there are very few people, roughly in the Sempione area... there, it’s a pleasure to talk with him, drink... smoke, and just feel good.

I also think that, culturally speaking, Capossela is leaps and bounds above Mr. Waits (who is nonetheless a sacred monster, for me). In this regard, reading any interview with either of them... or, much more simply, listening to their works attentively.
As for the Waits/Capossela tale... I find it something trite, easy, and even mindlessly stupid. One last thing: in my opinion, the album introduces truly new directions in our musician's musical universe. The distracted listener will always notice just the whiff of the Balkans, the hidden tarantella, the background Arabia... Mexico, clouds... Waits and the Kantian mustache... patience!!! Even Dante can be read without context, let alone Vinicio...
