Happy 2009 to everyone. After the enthusiasm and the hangovers of New Year's Eve, here I am, acknowledging that someone still reads my thoughts regarding a group to which any fan of hard, rock, folk, and pop music (..the more the merrier..) cannot fail to be grateful.
First of all, thank you for the compliments and also for the criticisms, as it is mainly the latter that will help me improve and strive to use greater fairness in the considerations that often turn into evaluations. Fortunately, these pages also help introduce new visitors as they confirm the presence of those who have faithfully "read me" for some time now.
A greeting and a "mea culpa" for the mistake on "Rock And Roll," where the riff is taken from "Good Golly Miss Molly" and "Keep A Knockin'...the latter actually by Little Richard...sorry again; unfortunately (..for those who contest;-)), I stand by my claim regarding "The Battle Of Evermore," the melody of which was born with a Page busy strumming a mandolin (for the record brought into the studio by Jones); the source is the biography by Andrea Ian Galli titled "Led Zeppelin," published by Editori Riuniti in 2003.
A greeting to all and see you soon.
AC/DC LIVE 2CD Collector's Edition

A straightforward and no-frills review, aimed at those who already know AC/DC. A beautiful live performance that has truly left countless listeners breathless, as every track is a gem we would love to hear again for many years to come. For now, we enjoy the solid return of Angus & Co. with "Black Ice."

...the album can also be considered decent and I don't think we could expect better from Motley.
Dire Straits Communiqué
Voto:
What can be said about "Communiquè" that hasn't already been said? Well, it’s filled with exceptional tracks. Beyond personal tastes, I don't think "Once Upon A Time In The West" is any less valid than "Where Do You..." or that "Single Handed-Sailor" is qualitatively inferior to "Angel Of Mercy." The second album by Dire Straits remains one of those chapters that, in some ways, represents the end of a certain sound that characterized the band up to that point, but at the same time, it serves as the right bridge connecting to that sonic signature that will distinguish the Straits of the early 80s. It's not easy to connect an audience to music through words; if that has happened, I'm happy to have succeeded. Thank you and goodbye.
Dire Straits On Every Street

Thank you first of all for your intervention... You are absolutely right, "On Every Street" is an album that needs time to be fully appreciated. Keep in mind that Mark Knopfler (in his Dire Straits guise, of course) arrives at the sixth studio work after the sporadic releases with Notting Hillbillies and Chet Atkins, and I believe these factors have influenced the latest album as well. "My Parties" and "You And Your Friend" are two excellent tracks that can be compared for their class and charm to "Ticket To Heaven" and "Fade To Black," goodbye.
Dire Straits Money For Nothing

As far as I know, you are absolutely right; this greatest hits has introduced many people I know to Dire Straits. It is definitely one of the most comprehensive collections on the market, although personally, I hope one day to be able to purchase a CD related to the magical tour of "Making Movies."
Mark Knopfler Golden Heart

It's always nice to say, better a few BUT GOOD ONES! In fact, as time goes by and Debaser publishes my "very personal thoughts" on the albums I've listened to the most, I notice that there aren't many presences on these virtual pages anymore. One thing is certain, those attending this review (!) have all given a positive contribution by expressing their opinions on an album to which I am particularly fond. Perhaps for this reason, dear Mark will always receive rounding up from me in case of half votes (3.5 for Golden Heart), resulting in a 4 for the CD in question. But when will the friends-managers of Debaser decide to introduce half points? Best wishes and many congratulations to the great Mark, who will add another candle to his 58 springs tomorrow.........Long Live Our...... Local Hero…

Beautiful review for a nice album that may not be a classic, but is brilliant in its small contribution to the world of the seven notes.
