Blackmore's Night Shadow Of The Moon
Voto:
Richard Hugh Blackmore is one of those characters who may seem controversial due to his professional life choices, but in the long run, in my opinion, they have always proven to be fitting. We have seen this with Rainbow and with the (even life) experience together with the ethereal Candice Night, which have led to chapters (or even paragraphs) of music history that have shown more pros than cons. I sense a strong disappointment among those who, raised on “bread and Deep Purple,” see the choice of the Somerset guitarist as “hanging up the guitar,” whereas I would speak of a change that can only benefit the achievement of true professional completeness, something not many have had the clarity to undertake.
Thanks to everyone for their participation (those who appreciate and – even more so – those who don’t share the four words spent on the world of the seven notes), but particularly for the positive judgments of those who express enjoyment for the opinions of a “simple enthusiast” like myself. Ah, I almost forgot, I'll overlook the lack of knowledge regarding Blackmore as a cellist (note taken from “La Grande Storia del Rock,” printed by De Agostini in 1983); to me, it seems that “Minstrel Hall” is written correctly... Best wishes and a peaceful Christmas to all, perhaps while listening to “Winter Carols.”

Well done Brunoro, a heartfelt and very interesting comment that can only be shared with those who find the update of a sound that seemed destined to stagnate being presented in a surprisingly pleasing and, why not, winning way.

Hi...nice and complete review of the show that was. I too (maybe) would have expressed myself with the same words, which happens when you're a bit more involved than usual with the show in question. I got the one in Rome. Well done, China...

A great review that not only shows a deep affection for the group but also, I assume, isn't lacking in a fair assessment. Everything perfectly succeeded from the review to the album!!!

Aside from a few typos, the meaning of what you write is quite clear, for those like me who enjoy listening to both official and high-quality (and not) material.

Clear and explanatory review; however, the album leaves a bit to be desired when it comes to the song format, which, although it draws from (as you already mentioned) a pop/metal style, fails to maintain a grip throughout its duration, unlike the excellent "Skyforger." It is still suitable for pleasant listening.
Mark Knopfler Get Lucky

I know that most of the time among readers there are those who would prefer a concise writing that gets straight to the point in evaluating an album; others might love to learn about details that often aren't even hinted at in specialized magazines.
The 5 stars (or asterisks..?) given to this work find reason – in the opinion of the writer, of course – for the creation of a fully cohesive album where most of the melodies easily stick in your head. It is also worth noting that we are faced with a record in which the various facets of the same coin (read: music) follow an ideal common thread, and never before has this CD expressed them without ever going “off-topic.”
My greater appreciation for “Get Lucky” does not at all diminish my regard for “Shangri-La” (introspective but appealing) or “Sailing To Philadelphia” (personal enough, but admirable although a bit more liveliness wouldn’t have hurt), but it is certainly more complete, even though I would love to find a “What It Is” in every solo release from the perfectionist Knopfler.
Thanks to the very generous ratings given “on trust” – assuming they will lead me to appreciate the advice for “graphic streamlining” – and greetings to all supporters/admirers of Knopfler Musica-Pensiero.

Wow, this is definitely an album worth putting back on the turntable, and this "highly knowledgeable" review has managed to do just that.
