Yes, indeed I had forgotten to bring this substantial difference to attention.. the namesake is derivative and takes inspiration from the sacred monsters like Saint Vitus and Cathedral, while in We Live the inspiration is indeed the classic doom but reinvented and reworked by the twisted mind that gave birth to masterpieces like CMF and Dopethrone.. I agree with your thesis, but I still believe that I wanted another Dopethrone after We Live!! Only in that case would I have jumped out of my chair and rushed to buy it.. but by now, it’s not like there can be any major novelties in this landscape nor big comebacks.. I happened to see the cover of the latest Earth but what does that cover have to do with Earth? It resembles those of Sixty Watt Shaman..!!

we live came down to me very early; it was the second album I listened to from EW after let us prey, and I consider let us prey a masterpiece, better than we live, because it's much more stoner and psych.. so from the description I think I won't listen to this, but never say never..

Oh, anyway, talking again about which is better between Dopethrone and Come My Fanatics is anachronistic!! It’s like asking what the masterpiece of the BS Ozzy era is, Paranoid or Masters of Reality?? I mean, they are both classics of doom that should be memorized without making rankings or comparisons..

If I really have to crown a doom band that I've been enjoying lately, it's Reverend Bizarre.. truly rotten..!! Ah, just between us, I listened to the latest High on Fire and it's incredibly boring.. Matt Pike really burned out after the first album; from there on, he made records of embarrassing monotony.. He should have disbanded the group after The Art of Self Defense, High on Fire could have become a cult like Sleep.. and instead.. they took a path that has never excited me.. some compare them to Mastodon, but comparing High on Fire to Mastodon, in my opinion, is like confusing shit with chocolate..
