de gustibus... I don't like it, but I won’t shoot it down because it still has talent... but it's not my cup of tea.

I almost forgot the rating... let's say 4 with a reservation, the album doesn't reach the peaks of its predecessors but you've all already pointed that out... it will appeal more to the fans than to the average listener and it won't capture many new followers... nonetheless, I'm still eagerly awaiting their next tour :)

try listening to Mutter or Reise Reise Mike76, as much as I love their first 2 CDs (Herzeleid and Sehnsucht, or even better Live Aus Berlin) their third and fourth albums truly shine with their own light when it comes to imagination and originality; you won't find a single track that is predictable or trivial... and that's saying something.
Depeche Mode The Singles 86>98

too good... you could have spent a couple of words on the splendid live of Everythind Counts (which I adored unbelievably), but I think this is fine as well... as alex82 said, I also find it hard to think of a better way to spend money on a CD than by purchasing this collection if you don’t already have it. More than recommended, INDISPENSABLE, for anyone.

Jokes aside, I paid 45,000 lire for this double album, not a small amount for the time (we were in the mid-'90s, so as Zuckina says, on average a CD cost over 30,000 - in my area, you couldn't find anything for less than 35,000 lire)... maybe it’s because in my area (Aosta) they were making a good profit... :(

well...
a slightly more detailed review would certainly not have hurt given the material in question, however, this remains the weakest album, not because it's bad, but because the other three were on another planet.

I'm sorry, but the CD was released today, December 2nd. How can you write an objective review based (presumably) on tracks downloaded from the internet two days ago? :/

I would have liked to do it myself :)
The review is nice, not spectacular, but sufficient to describe one of the best punk-rock albums of the last decade. I completely agree with the rating, but not with the final judgment; in my opinion, Smash is not much better than Ixnay on the Hombre. In fact, I personally consider the two albums to be equivalent in quality, clearly superior to the decent beginning and the pleasant Ignition, and light-years better than the last works...
Iron Maiden Death on the Road

beautiful like all Maiden's live performances, it's a shame it's too focused on Dance Of Death (not a bad album but not exceptional)... and anyway, yes, just stop doing a live for every studio album...
