Woody Allen Match Point

I liked it; I have a soft spot for Scarlett, but the film undoubtedly works, especially due to the actors. Not a masterpiece, but certainly noteworthy.

Halloween is so outdated that even Scream can look down on it...
Terrence Malick The New World

if it hadn't been a Malick film, it would have gone completely unnoticed
Sam Raimi Darkman

I saw it centuries ago, I remember it as disarmingly mediocre... not bad in the strict sense, you know, but lacking in every area... it was unfortunate enough to be released shortly after Burton's Batman, and there's simply no comparison.

If you really like the genre, this and chapter 4 are among the best. What would you consider the milestones of the genre? That this "cannot be judged as a true film" is a nonsensical phrase; rather, reiterate that you think it's crap et bon. Since the product in question is a manifesto of the genre, you’ll have to do better to convince us that you are criticizing the film and not the genre. As I said before, I could also say that The Producers is unwatchable crap, but if in the end it turns out that I actually hate musicals, how much is my judgment on the product worth?

Maybe you didn’t quite get the point: this stuff is clearly trash. So if you don’t like the genre at all, what’s the point of reviewing it? It’s like reading a review of a musical by someone who hates the genre.
Darren Lynn Bousman Saw 3

ah, of course neorealist films like Cannibal Holocaust are of a completely different genre, so don't even think about mentioning them.

Giving a 5 to this movie is an insult? Alright, find me a better slasher than this.

you're a fool... They haven't even started shooting Saw 4! From your description, I'd say like the others you reviewed the third one... and even there you messed it up... unlike the excellent first one and the terrible second, here the weak point is precisely the plot, which is really just a flimsy excuse to pour buckets of blood in the viewer's face. In terms of classic horror/thriller, Saw 3 is a failure; in terms of pure slasher, it's a masterpiece.
