It's true. Miller, quite pissed off, decided shortly after to put on paper the original screenplay rejected by the producers. Nowadays it's a relatively rare comic, but I think you can find it on eBay without too much difficulty.

Miller's screenplay was heavily modified because it was deemed too violent and splatter. The film is not the rubbish that many portray; the fact is that it doesn't hold a candle to the first chapter. A high-quality B-movie.
