Sam Mendes Skyfall

In my opinion, it’s not a disaster but it is monstrously overrated by both the audience and critics. It’s better than QoS but doesn’t come close to half the value of Casino Royale. Bardem (who appears halfway through the film) isn’t enough to save a slow movie with a trivial and boring plot that just keeps "building" for 2 and a half hours without ever delivering a decent climax (and no, the ending is a disaster, the villain's death is a disaster, and I couldn't care less about the helicopter crash). Aesthetically, it’s beautiful, but things like the Bond girl of the moment, who will have maybe 5-6 minutes of glory and then dies in total indifference halfway through the film, honestly leave a frustrating sense of dissatisfaction. A semi-successful reboot, Q, M, and new-gen Miss Moneypenny happily urinating on what was, in any case, a discontinuous continuity since after Brosnan. For me, it's a meager 3; mountains of money and a good actor (Bardem, yes, Craig is good but the other is on another level) aren’t enough to make a movie enjoyable, or at least not one that deserves those kinds of ratings.

I stopped at Diary of the Dead, which was already pretty terrible, and I’m someone who thinks Land is decent. I’m told this one isn’t even so bad it’s good, but just plain bad. Romero is old; it’s time to retire.

good recommendation, I’ve heard about it too but I’ve never looked into it (also because I have tons of stuff to watch that I don’t have the time to see). HBO is indeed a guarantee, I’ll try to catch up.

In my opinion, Warning was already pretty awful, Nimrod is the last serious album, although I acknowledge that American Idiot, apart from its mainstream success, still had something good in it. Nowadays they seem sad and boring to me, but maybe I’ve just gotten older; I only heard the single on the radio and it's painfully terrible though.

I haven't touched it yet; I'm still traumatized by the movie with Walberg, and even though I know it's great, I also know it has nothing to do with that game from over 10 years ago. Even without Sam Lake's face, it bothered me, but at least it was Remedy, and a TPS like that had never been seen before. A lot of water has gone under the bridge since then...

watchable film, well made and well acted. The problem is that even so, it is nothing special.
