Joy Division?
ALT precious material. handle with care.
This record is not overrated; I have nothing else to add to the review.
A small digression.
While I don't think this record is overrated, I don’t believe at all that New Wave is overrated.
Rather, in these past few years, it has been rediscovered (never enough).
For heaven's sake, it's a matter of taste,
but in my opinion, the New Wave or punk
was one of the most important phenomena in rock.
A creative and seminal graft that saved rock music from the self-indulgence that the 'dinosaur' bands of the time were assuming.
In fact:
The most creative artists of the sixties (for example, the Red Crayola) have risen within it.
Eno sensed its potential right away and dove in as both a producer and a
writer.
The prog giants like King Crimson had converted to it.
Genesis did not, and we have seen the end.
It’s a long discussion full of exceptions, but I started listening to music with interest
when it exploded, so I am very biased,
But don’t touch that stunning movement that, with Suicide, Pere Ubu, Joy Division,
Iggy and countless others, left immortal pages in
the great history of R&R.
Amen.

Every now and then I indulge in some splatter,
when Rai Uno blessed us by airing it in prime time on Easter night.
Taking advantage of having my son out of the house for the long weekend,
I watched it and, after all, I enjoyed it.
Of course, realistically, one might wonder how much blood a man has to lose that much, but in splatter (like in the gospel), everything is allowed.
I also wonder if it's a genre that should be aired during protected hours, but the Polish pontiff back then, living it up at the Top of the S.S. (Holy See), had given his personal blessing at the time.
"It went exactly like this," he seems to have stated when he saw it in advance.
Can you really complain about anything?

I was born in the mid-60s too, but unlike you, there’s a ton of stuff in that movie that I’m not sure I completely understood. (Let’s be honest, during the time of Un chien andalou or the Edad de Oro it was much more comprehensible.) But who cares, I still really enjoyed it.
