oh no, it’s not genius!!! aha.. you’re really an expert! damn, if there’s one guitarist who experiments with strange and genius things, it’s definitely him... don’t worry, you’re not ignorant! the ignorant might take offense.

I was referring to the anonymous post. Antimo, I mean poetry in the sense of searching for particular terms, using metaphors, like "I'm the king on this withering throne" to say that he reigns over a pile of rubble, or "bloodstained throne" to highlight the suffering and death of the people that produced that world... and so on. I don't know what you didn't like about that text because it's really well written, it’s not "liberi liberi siamo noi...chissà dov'è"!

I share the first part of the post above... I mean, you really listen to mainstream music! And anyway, you're not providing any arguments by saying that Vasco has given a lot to music! A lot of coke to the singers, at most! If you back up your statement with the songs you mentioned earlier, I'll tell you they suck, and we’d be back to square one. Besides, how can I respond to your questions if you're NOT asking any questions! I'm fascinated by your ability to write random things, you seem... mmm... wait... I can't remember... ah, yes! VASCO

The objectivity here lies in the fact of comparing a poem (because the modus scribendi - I hope that's correct =) - of Pain of Salvation is definitely poetic in nature) with words of provocation... come on, it's like comparing Dante to a journalist from L'Unità, or Il Giornale, or Libero, or Il Manifesto, etc. etc.

Oh well, if you don't like that text, you can't come and tell me that Vasco's are better! Tastes are one thing, but objectivity goes beyond...

There was some problem, I'll try again:
[Mr. Money:]
I woke up today
Expecting to find all that I sought
And climb the mountains of the life I bought
Finally I'm at the top of every hierarchy
Unfortunately there is no one left
But me
I woke up today
To a world that's ground to dust, dirt and stone
I'm the king upon this withering throne
I ruled every forest, every mountain, every sea
Now there're but ruins left to rule for me
And... you see, it beckons me;
Life turned its back on us
How could you just agree?
...how? I just don't see...
I woke up today
To a world devoid of forests and trees
Drained of every ocean, every sea
Just like a useless brick upon the shore
The morning after the storm
That swept the bridge away
Relentless tide
No anger
Just this relentless time
That calls us all on
But...
I'm never crossing that line
Leaving this world behind
I will stay on my own
On this bloodstained throne
I rule the ruins and wrecks
And the dust, dirt and stone
I rule rage rod and rattling of bones
I am on my own
I am all alone
Everything is gone
Stuck forever here
Already cold
I'm never crossing that line
Leaving this world behind
I will stay on my own
On this bloodstained throne...
I'm never crossing that line
Leaving this world behind
I will stay on my own
On this bloodstained throne
I rule the ruins and wrecks
And the dirt and the dust and the stone
I'm the ruler of rage rod and rust
And the rattling of bones
Ruler of ruin...

Well, let's be clear, Slayer makes music that is quite different from Metallica, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be labeled in the same genre. You know, Pain of Salvation and Dream Theater also do prog, but their music has nothing to do with each other... a genre encompasses a range of factors, but it’s not like the songs have to be identical to fit within the same genre! If you say that Slayer has influenced (along with others) death metal, I completely agree, but if you tell me they are a death metal band, they are not at all.
