It's amusing to see Fusillo's naivety. I figured out the film too, I'm not a genius. Obviously, the correct interpretations are those of Azzo and Supersoul. This is never meant to be a "realistic" film; rather, it serves as a representation, through briefcases of money and crazy characters, of an American reality (and why not, a global one) that's sometimes overlooked.
Anyway, good review.

Go read various interviews online where he talks about his genius, the new music he brings to the world, his wandering through the streets of Milan and hearing the real problems of people and translating them into music, about his tiny studio apartment where the piano didn’t fit and from which he invented a whole new technique of mental composition (is he crazy?!). Watch the videos on YouTube of his appearances on Fazio’s show... and finally check out the videos of his pieces on YouTube... a real disgust. But then what universality? When the hype is over, no one will remember Giovanni Allevi anymore, not even the aforementioned housewives.

Yes, the book is great... frantic pace, grotesque, innovative. I have the movie, but I haven't watched it yet.
