In my opinion, there's another thing to consider: Piper is the first album by the Floyd, a band that formed 2-3 years earlier; in reality, the songs on Piper are not from '67 but already existed in '65/'66 when the Floyd were performing live in London venues, a period when the Beatles were doing anything but psychedelia (Rubber Soul and Revolver). For this reason, I believe the Floyd clearly anticipated the Beatles in the psychedelic branch, especially that branch, as Caz says, which leads back to Interstellar, to Saucerful... noise-based psychedelia, in short, the real stuff even for me.

As for the review, it's very naive and poorly written; you can tell it's from a kid... so a pat on the back anyway and two for encouragement... the album is sublime... the title track... brr... perhaps the best of all the Floyd...
