The reason why the Beatles influenced so many generations is not (only) due to their actual quality but (a lot) to their commercial and advertising luck. "Together" is good pop rock, but guys, back then there was more (in America and in England... come on..) Crimson, Doors, Vu, Craiola, Dylan, Floyd... Soft Machine... Beefheart... the first ones that come to my mind...

Well, it depends on what you mean by "luck." The captain's album has had quite a bit of luck among enthusiasts, as much as this. On a public level, no, but that matters less... the same goes for the Red Crayola, right? In my opinion, the music of Thompson and Cuordibue manages to be even more cultured than that of Reed & Cale, and this is where the lesser luck resides. But let's remember that rock is not a "cultured" genre. VU&N represents the perfect starting point for development, even in the cultured direction of rock.
