I agree with pretazzo, I did the same test, same result..
hobbit: rock bottom is a piece of crap, I can't accept it, I find it immense and immensely touching... the final laugh is mind-blowing, it's worth the price of the CD all by itself...

However, commercial success often influences how good someone is perceived to be, and in the case of the bitols, this is obvious.
