I don't like rap, I'm on the first listen, at track 5... but this album is monstrous.

for me it’s a great album....and the latest from Akron Family confirms its quality at first listen...bold, not trivial...definitely a must-have..and the cover art is truly commendable..

It's an interesting album, although I wasn't as impressed as everyone seemed to be talking about it. In short, I agree with the rating, a 3+. Good review.

I'm writing here about the album Joy because the other review seems to have gone awry. I must preface that I have very little knowledge of classical piano and jazz (Glenn Gould and a few notables, Jarrett, Monk, Tyner (with Coltrane), Pieranunzi and a bit more), but just yesterday I was listening to Jarrett's Köln concert... today I put on this Joy... in short, it's an abyss... I found it truly lacking in any depth (for what my opinion is worth)... the first track is even embarrassing... it seems to me that the kid also lacks dynamics and touch. Contemporary classical? Well then, Stravinsky actually catapulted himself from the XXX century to the early 1900s... The impression is that he would make an excellent arranger for pop rock bands, but calling him a talent in contemporary classical just doesn’t make sense to me. I don't know about Blue Note in New York, but the one in Milan has long sold out... just look at the concerts of Oasis and other pop singers... of course, in March when we went to see Benny Golson, there couldn’t have been more than 15 of us... Perhaps the kid really has talent and one day will decide to pursue an artistic career, but for now it seems to me that his is a career point. I repeat, I don’t have “technical” elements to judge him, but to my ear it sounds this way... so 1... no one should feel offended. Responses and critiques are more than welcome.
