It's true that the photography is very basic, but in my opinion, it contributes to giving the film that something strange: it feels like a teen movie in the style of American Pie, but written by Cronenberg. And I find the result original, if not entirely successful.

It doesn't matter who decides the ticket price; what matters is the price itself. Tom Waits knows how much it costs, and since he is the artist, he is entirely free to choose to perform in places where he is guaranteed a low price (see Magnolia or Idroscalo for those in Milan).

In my opinion, a highly overrated film. I don’t find the screenplay particularly original, and the editing is the same: as ajeje points out, in recent years we have seen many films structured this way, and much better than this one. Moreover, I found it actually very straightforward; you understand everything within the first 10 minutes, with no jolts, no surprises. The reflection on destiny is certainly not something new (Inarritu, to name one of the more famous). The direction is good, and the actors are excellent, however.
