At this point, I recommend looking for some Alice Cooper and '70s Scorpions; I find both fabulous (nothing to do with Hey Stoopid and Wind of Change)... Uriah Heep get close to prog in some ways, but don't worry—nothing ultra-technical or at the dt level, actually.. Wishbone Ash are more peculiar; maybe they're not even hard rock, but for me, they deserve a lot ("Argus" is a masterpiece; in fact, if I get the chance, I’ll review it).. I’m glad you've changed your opinion about Lizzy :)

Thin Lizzy played kind of late '60s music, so I don't see how they fit into your imagined glam rock trend: name me an album by Thin Lizzy that sounds like Cinderella... yes, you’d really do better listening to them, not some kitschy band. Of course, I can't deny that they were very influential on bands like Europe and Bon Jovi, that's for sure. For Alice Cooper, I hope you haven't just stopped at Trash... and finally, Def Leppard, as Fidia rightly said, really rocked until Pyromania, then they softened a bit and had a boom in sales, but that doesn't mean they became glam... on the great hard rock bands, though, I agree with you; I would also add Scorpions, Uriah Heep, and Wishbone Ash.
