Yes, there were two or three songs that were listened to, but unfortunately the comparison with Nirvana comes too easily for me. And this group has always felt (compared to Nirvana) too obviously commercial. Too much. And what about the soul of these songs? Where is it?

Personally, I really like this album. It definitely has a quality that the previous PJ albums lack, which is maturity. It doesn’t mean that a rock album has to be all about the “affanculotuttiquanti” style. It can be intimate, intelligent, tough, and hard-hitting like this CD. Very, very enjoyable.

I want to say that one must know how to play the instrument! There are cases where music is created only in the studio with mixing tracks, music, etc., and it is not the product of an instrument. In short, what would you think of a Phish concert if they were out of time, annoying, and technically limited? Sure, the album would still be nice, but fundamentally, it would be a nice scam.

AjejeB, I honestly remain disoriented reading a nice review and then seeing that, according to Debaser, you gave it a 0! Now I know you didn't want to vote, okay, but the way the site is structured leaves one a bit confused. I mean, inside you this album is a 4, but outside of you (that is here, for those who look!) it's a 0. Anyway, I actually also don't love the idea of relentless voting; it would be more than sufficient just to read the review. Instead, for studio tricks, I’m not on your side: if it's a group of musicians composing, one would hope that they could perform live what they created in the studio. Then another discussion can be had for other genres of music created purely in the studio (Moby, Fatboy Slim, etc.).

Kosmogabri has perfectly understood and focused on the concept of the concerts of these bands. They are exceptional and it's real life. I believe that an artist of this level should absolutely be judged also and especially live. Who's to say that the album isn't the result of intense work during the recording and mixing phase by excellent sound technicians (rather than the band)?
AjejeB, well, but if there is a grading scale, why not use it? Not for anything else, someone who doesn’t know your views and doesn’t feel like reading your review opens the page, sees the rating immediately and... closes it right away with the conviction that the album sucks!

AjejeB: A) The song Born in the USA was requested by President Reagan as a soundtrack for his electoral campaign, to which Springsteen replied: "Mr. President, perhaps you haven't listened carefully to the lyrics...". In other words, what could be taken as a silly and idiotic anthem for and by the Ameregani was actually a desperate condemnation of the Vietnam War and a denunciation of how veterans were treated. Unlike many other "committed" artists, Springsteen has always written lyrics that are, in his own way, subversive for America. With the recent song American Skin - 41 Shots - (dedicated to the barbaric murder of the black Amadou Diallo at the hands of the New York police, an act of racism, 41 bullets fired at an innocent, unarmed, blameless victim, guilty only of trying to withdraw a document from his pocket, a gesture that the police justified as being mistaken for drawing a weapon), he has incurred the wrath of the American police who, during his recent 2002 tour, even refused to assign him security!!!! B) For concerts focused solely on Springsteen, you're very much mistaken; the legend of the E Street Band is well-known. They have all been friends since the '70s. Incredible professionals who receive all the honors they deserve from him on stage. Having followed him, I have found Springsteen to be consistently honest with himself and his audience. There’s no doubt about that. P.S. Why don’t you give ratings?

Alexander77: a) Use Tele and Strato; b) Having seen him, WITH the E-street Band, I can assure you they are an incredibly tight and powerful group. c) Let's try to distinguish Springsteen live from his CD production: I mean, a concert from the '70s or '80s was truly lethal. And a bootleg doesn't do it justice. P.S.: Why don’t you rate the album and the review?

"War Machine" was written by a journalist from Rolling Stone, in fact, it's in quotes. Jimi Hendrix was great with the guitar, for example. Do you know him?

Ahahah well done Grasshopper! An alternative would be to kidnap him, sedate him, and wake him up under the stage with "One, Two... One, Two, Three, For" from Bruce Springsteen's memory!!! And crank those Stratocasters right in his ears!
