Spacemen 3 Taking Drugs To Make Music To Take Drugs To

"...one of the few salvable things from the pathetic, ridiculous, and useless 80s." Certain phrases should be thought through very carefully before being written so lightly. The 80s should be defended and celebrated! For goodness' sake! By the way, would this be one of the few salvable bands from the 80s (to which you, by the way, give a 3/5)? Come on. And one more thing: have you realized that you are suffering from a nervous breakdown due to "categorization of musical movements"?

"But if you like it, what's the problem? That... that... well, the problem is that I would have given it a little hit, and I would be betraying Grace Slick & Uschi Obermaier." Translation: I’m ashamed to write this on Debaser after such a long time pretending to be a music snob. This time the story of the strafi.. doesn’t hold, it seems you really like the catchy tunes! Well, they’re not that bad after all. ;-)

One of my -young- favorite authors. I agree with your opinion on this album. Not a masterpiece, but still always a good product. Stunning winter-newage cover.
Ligabue Fuori come va?
Voto:
Lucabbrasi, Italian-style bluff is really nice. Nomadi, Mannoia, and Sugarfree all together in a nice minestrone (that’s definitely Italian), but we’re missing the coffee zucchinis and the cabbages for a snack... I agree with primiballi, either we discuss it or we go back to playing petty pranks in kindergarten... Ligabue, with this album, has done what he knows how to do: well-crafted Italian melodic songs. Not very innovative, not very original, not very exciting, but from what I know, he makes things he believes in. Of course, that doesn’t mean the result is good. Among his works, I like this album very little.

Well done Borntorun1976! A couple of things: 1) Born in the USA should be listened to beyond its "pompous" sound. I believe there are incredible songs within it like "My Hometown," which talks about a sad and deserted town due to unemployment, or "Downbound Train," a beautiful love poem. Not to mention "Working on the Highway," with its driving and danceable rhythm but a bitter text. Or "Bobby Jean," based on a true story of friendship... and Born in the USA is a scream against the horrors of war! 2) Great job on the suggestions you gave, all exceptional artists. 3) Recommendation: why not register on this site? Give it a try, even just to comment at least you’ll be in bold! :-) Anyway, thanks and see you next time!

Mariaelena... the review had a beautiful introduction, but what about the songs? How are they? Until next time! And anyway, welcome! As for the album in question, it is really remarkable, but for me, it is not her masterpiece.

Mariaelena, to the first question I reply that I am quite (but not very...) over thirty, and regarding your comment, I think it's very beautiful. Let me explain why, in my opinion. Music, even if we don’t always realize it, serves us and helps us in many moments of our lives. Whether we are in love, whether we are desperate, whether we are tired, whether we are disappointed, whether we are happy, whether we are dreamers or just simply to give "color" to our days. In my view, each of us has artists who touch our "souls" more than others. Especially for the more sensitive ones, as you say. And you will notice that especially the more sensitive ones attribute deeper meanings to music. Only great artists are able to evoke such emotions in those who listen to them.

Borntorun76, I listened live to the acoustic version of Born in the USA. Phenomenal. Bare, cutting, painful, bleeding with all the horror of the Vietnam War (for all wars). Nothing compared to an American flag... It was indeed a painful act of accusation against part of his own people... But it's not easy to understand... As for Springsteen=Vasco: can you name just one song that denounces human degradation, against war, for immigration, for economic depression, for laid-off workers, for immigrants killed innocently, for the uselessness of TV, stories of murders, violence, tales of alleys, and minor stories from city suburbs... (all themes tackled by Springsteen)?? Well... what I remember from Vasco are songs about young love, desperate young loves, about losers we're alone, bars from Franco, etc. For heaven's sake, even worthy songs. However, in terms of the social impact of the songs, we are one to a hundred! Ohhh, I love talking about the boss!! By the way, borntorun1976: on November 15th, a remastered version of Born to Run is coming out, including a DVD of a legendary concert from 1975! Plus the making of the album in question and various interviews...
