Giorgio Gaber La mia generazione ha perso
Voto:
Grendel, our generation is the child of the one "that lost." But I never give up. Here, perhaps the only flaw of the album is the title. I don't like victimhood. And irony isn't always enough. It takes participation, movement, discussion, activism, study. Never sit down, never wallow in self-pity, never lower your head in defeat. Certainly, many times the temptation is strong, it seems like the only way out and, let's face it, it’s more comfortable. But I believe a better fate is always possible...

Clearly, from a musical standpoint, the same criticisms you had about this album had already been made extensively and much better.

Vic Smile, the usual poor jerk... if even that Damn spring doesn't defend you anymore... adios. Regressed to kindergarten. Certain tirades from "Daddy's point" are just you and a few spaced-out junkies from the Acli of my little provincial town.

Well done, great comeback.

The review is very "dense" yet at the same time light. The album is one of my all-time favorites and, for me, it's classical music. Selected as a recommended review!

Sorry Punisher, beyond the "millions of fucking yankees" there are other millions of guys (Europeans including many Italians, Asians, etc.) who around the world bought this record. Now, aside from your narrative which should be taken for what it is, I would like to stop at this considerably pernicious discussion about associating this record (in my opinion a decent and entertaining rock-pop album, nothing more and nothing less than I believe it wants to be in intentions) with the Americans you can't stand. Question: what have the Americans (all of them, it seems, including teenage girls) done that is so serious? Or, what haven’t others done to be different from the Americans (I’m referring to Italians, for example)? Isn’t it perhaps that you’ve made a demagogic melting pot a bit too big and instead of putting in the Bush administration, for example, you’ve shoved in all the fucking yankees? Furthermore, I’d like to remind you, for what it’s worth, that if your goal was the vile Bush administration, "American Idiot" is precisely an indictment against the poor idiotic Americans who voted for Bush and some songs within it are exactly against the war pushed by Bush. My conclusion is: if you write a fanciful tale, don’t commit the unfairness of inserting judgments of some historical-social value. Because otherwise one – reasoning absurdly – could sue you for murder...

Born, to be precise I gave it a 3, so, I repeat, it's not a bad album. The question I asked myself is: why don't I feel like listening to those songs again? I remember them being quite nice..... So my opinion should be taken more as an absolutely personal judgment rather than a technical one on the album.

I listened to it. The ratings. I rate the album a 2.5. Today I'll round up.

Luca, I purchased this record with the same enthusiasm with which you reviewed it. Then I listened to it. Well, I said to myself, it’s not bad. But I’ve only listened to it, overall, twice. My judgment remains: it’s not bad. A little too little.
