Dear Cazpuntini... you insist on these epithets of yours. My words are not nonsense but opinions just like yours. Who’s to say that it’s not your “nonsense” that makes no sense (I say this for paradox’s sake, I assume from your name you must be an editor of some Anglo-Italian music magazine)? Therefore, as opinions, even if they were filthy, oozing with pus and every imaginable filth (...from your purulent mind... allow me :-)) THEY MUST BE RESPECTED. I know that words like "that shit" in your particular slang mean "a poorly done album," but in common speech, it’s not a nice word: shit, for me, means shit and it disgusts me. Moreover, the fact that the artists you mention got excellent ratings confirms that success and beauty can very well go hand in hand. But what I really want to reiterate is that I dislike the idea of a sort of demigod indicating the path of good music that all followers must adhere to. I think Ligabue is a good and honest (not one of the best) songwriter. Period. If you don’t like him, simply say: I DON’T LIKE him, or it’s crap, and not YOU’RE SPITTING NONSENSE. Be careful of the subtle (to you) difference. Which is also the difference between a man and a boy. You’ll understand.

Dear all (that is, those who posted a review before me), I think Ligabue is talented. Period. And this album, along with the first and second, is an example of his skill. I don’t believe he is overrated, especially because he started at a late age and from the bottom. So what he has, he truly deserves. Tell me, who has written rock songs in Italy that are this enjoyable? Just for "Certe notti," the album is worth listening to. If we’re fed up, it’s because it has played many times on the radio, thanks to its success. Should we hold that against him? I consider him an honest writer and interpreter of Italian rock songs. Not a genius for sure, but far, far above the average of today’s singer-songwriters. This myth that anything niche is beautiful needs to be debunked as soon as possible. It’s not credible that albums known by few are praised while successful ones are thoroughly discredited. That’s neither a fair nor a mature attitude. Then again, tastes are tastes, of course. But on this site, it seems that whenever a successful CD is reviewed, one gets bombarded with tons of crap. Is it necessary to praise the “outs” to be considered “in”? Forgive me for the wordplay.

The album is a worldwide masterpiece! It should be savored slowly and with passion. Your review does not convey the tremendous music present in this historic CD. Nonetheless, welcome! But does your rating match your review, meaning you gave it a 0?? Are you aware of that?

Well done on the choice and the review! It's time to pull out records like this and showcase them! However, I agree with Grasshopper that it's not the absolute best. I personally prefer "Non all'amore...". I mean, I prefer the musicality of De Andrè in those wonderful songs. Overall, as an album, understood as an idea, it's exceptional. But De Andrè's beautiful songs are elsewhere (in my opinion).

I don't really like the review, not because it starts with a dedication to Francis (good for him...) but because one shouldn't forget that the review should at least suggest a bit about how the album sounds! In yours, you talk about relationships between GB, USA, 1994, etc... but what does this album sound like? Anyway, congratulations on the choice!

I wanted to review this album, but you got to it almost two years before me...!
I find it magnificent. Truly enjoyable and not as exaggerated as other Pearl's. I really like this even after all these years. Good review.
