The Rolling Stones Their Satanic Majesties Request
Voto:
This album drives me crazy.. it’s true, it breathes new air, dreamlike air.. it projects you into "another land"... an album from '67 is an album from '67, Beatles or Rolling Stones or Pink Floyd or Red Crayola...
Yo La Tengo Prisoners Of Love

how great
Joy Division An Ideal For Living

No one noticed that the riff of "no love lost" is referenced, I'd say quoted, from that of Tommy by The Who? Other than that, great EP, already claustrophobic and very punk but still a bit generic.. Ian's voice doesn't yet have that damnably "dark" timbre.

literally mind-blowing disk
Dirty Three Ocean Songs

greatest album.. evocative. perhaps a bit too long. but truly fantastic. it feels like being on a deserted shore watching the ocean, maybe at sunset, or better yet just after sunset.
The Mothers Of Invention Freak Out!
Voto:
great album, slightly inferior to the masterpiece the year after, absolutely free...
the return of monster magnet... I love the jazzy first part (with an exceptional frenzied drum beat), then when it starts to warble and "orgasm" I don't know... I appreciate it as an idea but I struggle to digest it. help i'm rock instead is a masterpiece. well done dave.
Tilly And The Wall Wild Like Children

Beautiful. You didn't mention the last track "the ice storm big gust and you," especially the last part, where her voice is exceptional.
The Norman Haines Band Den Of Iniquity

Great Lewis, with your '60s-'70s tips I'm in safe hands. I'm listening to "Rabbits" right now, it's beautiful.. great as always.
Jethro Tull Benefit

Sorry, but why didn't you mention "teacher"? I considered it the best (along with cry you a song and a time for everything).
Jethro Tull Benefit

Well, in my opinion, it's not all that great; compared to "Stand Up" and "Aqualung," there's no comparison... but I also think it falls short compared to the bluesy "This Was" and the progressive "Thick as a Brick."
