Beautiful review.
I understand, having tried it in its time, the passion with which you tackle the author's "crossing," even if this title is not, for me, a 5-star one, reserved exclusively for the true masterpiece, "La Promessa."
You've used the term "giallo" a couple of times, as many critics do, but you surely know that D. obviously detested that comparison.
P.S. Have you seen his paintings?
He was an "amateur," but he had a certain talent.

Reading here and there, it's really surprising to discover such a "vivid" biography and such a tragic departure for someone you first encounter as a child, singing "Agata" in black and white on the screen (I liked it a lot!).

So, Vidna Obmana no longer exists? I admit I didn't notice the departure... I left it behind eons ago, in the mid-'90s, perhaps during a collaboration with S. Roach.
And I am not familiar with the further production.
Alo Die does indeed have a monstrous production rate, but the little I’ve heard was noteworthy, something increasingly rare in the "ambient" ocean.
