Damn, I liked you, no ifs and buts. And that happens rarely. Even with some approximation, which fits in this beautiful page, so let's not nitpick in front of such greatness. I don't have this album by the big guy, but I'm sure the 5 is right.

HAl, the Maisky album I will write about as soon as I have time is the double of the Deutch, you’ll understand which one... I hope yours isn’t ready yet.... :)

HAL, what further coincidence brings your review to these pages just as I'm considering writing one about a record by Maisky, and the coincidences that connect me to him and that record? Taking into account the extremely rare incursions into classical music here on DeB, this must be a strange design of "fate".... I’m not familiar with this work of Misha, but I will fill the gap.

ajeje, swap the others with this one. And with the first ECM where it appears with others, and is less kiss-ass.

I have ranted elsewhere about the greatness of this album. You, too, elsewhere, bring up the virtually unanimous opinion of 100 different publications. It’s also hard to explain why it is absolutely superior, overall, to everything else in its catalog, which is rich with equally sparkling moments. You start from the effect it had on you as a twelve-year-old, and perhaps that’s the best way to describe such a rich record. I was older and had too many listens under my belt, but the effect was phenomenal for me as well, even though I was already familiar with the other albums. I couldn’t say much more, nor any better. And I wholeheartedly agree with the decisiveness of your closing statement.
