Dense yet fluid pages and appetizing images (the foamy effect of the batter is a gem among others) that "sound" like the record. Grass, you are in great shape...

Well, I guess I can just copy and paste the bearded Brazilian midfielder (half forward?). The same considerations apply to me, in fact. Bye bye.

Welcome back, RingoStarfish. I arrive at your excellent page a bit late. But when faced with a giant (at least in terms of sales, and excuse me if that's not insignificant), the lack of timeliness is rather irrelevant. Your words present considerations and topics that are largely shareable. But there's also the aspect of "perception," as Socrates highlights (by now I almost default to signing his precise words). I am old enough to remember the power of the shockwave from this kind of musical tsunami, its planetary dominance. And since I was immersed in other listens, I almost put myself "in shelter" in a sort of youthful "otherness." The magic formula (which I believe should also be attributed to Q.J.) that underlies this album is obviously not in question, but perhaps still conditioned by the past, I do not feel like giving it the highest marks. Which you, however, rightfully deserve. - P.S. maybe one of these evenings I’ll listen to it again....

Well, Giovanni Verga from blaixpotation is not bad! I confess to distant listens and vast ignorance. But just these days I'm rediscovering certain sounds, and thanks to this page, I have a few more elements. And Socrates' categorical invitation to watch the movie is another (yet another) "commitment" that we have to take on. Then ZiOn also adds to the list... :)

Of course, the pace of the homepage has become so dizzying that the Editors' choice is incredibly useful. This one had slipped my attention. A 5 also for the generous provision of samples, which makes me think that I might like it.

Beautiful, stunning, and delicate. 'Wow, it seems you like it, Danilo :) - I'm struggling (it's not just a saying, between shops and hauling, I'm always "working") to keep up with your pages. I even found the Cape Verdean that I thought was lost! I only know the name of the gentleman in question, now we need a closer encounter. Thank you, Symbad.

Well, Massimof, you’ve been posting some excellent pages lately. Your description of the journey to the edge of the canyon reminded me of a scene from a book, but with few neurons wandering around in my skull, I can’t even recall the author (Richard Ford?). If it comes back to me, I’ll let you know. I believe I remember it being a good novel. As for the album, even though I bought and enjoyed it about a dozen years ago, I wouldn’t give it the highest marks. I preferred the one released in ’97, produced by Lanois and bearing the same name, if I’m not mistaken. But this remains, obviously, one of the most evocative musical works about the saga of the natives. Your description of the "enclosures" and the subhuman conditions prevailing down there is very truthful and makes it even sadder to see how a once proud and dignified people has been reduced today. Great job on the review.

I don't know this, but I don't doubt Blackcrow's words. Especially since the only album of G.M. I have, Songs From The Last Century, amazed me with its quality the first time I heard it, immersed in (understandable, right?) biases. - Although, regarding: "difficult and worthy artistic-existential path that deserves respect and admiration," I must confess some hesitation...

Wow, what a character! The first video is a nice appetizer too. And you can download six tracks. Great find, Morningstar. Thank you so much. - P.S. zzzzzzzzzzzz, did you notice the bassist's sweater in the video? Is he a grandson of Ed Wood?

I was a bit distracted, Zarathustra. You had already mentioned the one with V. Morrison (I remembered the title, incredible). I'm not exactly an "expert," but that one from Impulse is a great record. But I was forgetting a title that you probably know. The soundtrack of "Hot Spot": J.L.H with Miles Davis. It's very unique (the film certainly didn't deserve such a gem). But there you go. If you haven't heard it yet, I highly recommend it.
