Well, I liked the book; he’s a multifaceted and definitely interesting author. The curiosity lies in the fact that the protagonists of the story, some wacky and impossible characters, go to a concert, and the "negro" who plays the piano, if I recall correctly, is none other than Jarrett... - Thank you for the open love letter.

P.S. I was mistaken: there are several little samples of this on the site too... Beautiful.

Well, of course, if you look for them written like that (atfield and the north, henri cow, robert wyatt), my dear blucamel, it will be hard to find them. But since you’re mentioning them, you must have at least listened to them, right?

@ Wanderer: how can "old" things be new sometimes, right? - @ Batory: thank you for the positive feedback you left in the comment. And then I saw your profiles (cute, some of your main "interests" are also mine) and the titles you review: I would really be curious to know what you think, if you ever happen to hear this record: I don’t think it has much in common with your tastes. And that’s one more reason to appreciate your presence here. Bai.

For a long time, I had been thinking of writing a page about these two records. They have been unavailable in Italy for some time, as they are out of print. The task of curating the collection was entrusted to John Zorn by Warner, who had also graduated with a thesis on Carl Stalling. Zorn's music, like Patton's, owes much to the compositional solutions and the ability to condense an impressive amount of "sonic information" into very short time frames (those imposed by cartoons), drawing from different musical contexts. Stalling was an absolute perfectionist, capable of having performances repeated dozens of times, and listening to the records is a surprising testament to this: hear how quickly and flawlessly one atmosphere transitions to another, one rhythm to another. And, as the reviewer correctly observes, using every sonic material without adhering to theoretical hierarchies of value. Lovers of Zorn's music MUST have these records. AND WARNER SHOULD KEEP THEM IN PRINT UNTIL THE END OF ITS DAYS, AT LEAST OUT OF RESPECT FOR ITS OWN HISTORY AND FOR THE MAN WHO CREATED A SONIC WORLD THAT DID NOT EXIST BEFORE.

"Negro" should be in quotation marks for political correctness, obviously: "negro". There you go.

Hi, Sfascia. I’m not going to the beach, at least for a while. Can I cause the same disruptive effect that drives people away without being at the sea? What do you think about the office, bustling with activity, risking wrath, beatings, and insults to my heart's content? Maybe I'll try the sealed lair first, just a minimal precaution: I’ve already soundproofed it!
