Arrested Development Since The Last Time
Voto:
Here it is, los sempols, as promised. What can I say? Thank you to todos, especially to the skeptics (Nick, I'm doing great, just a bit confused but that’s normal). It seems like a nice little disk to me, and I'm also curious about those from Franti and Roots (Kosmo, have they come out yet?). Dear Killgod, as soon as I have time, I will feel ashamed (there's always a good reason, after all). I welcome the return of the noble Wanderer. And to zzzzzzzz: Not even a niiiiiiiiii? P.S. General, I hadn't told you yet, but you are my type. I'm especially fascinated by your epidermis and the sweetness of your gaze. Such a shame about this unbridgeable distance...

I wrap up, thank everyone, and invite Copernicus, who has been increasingly MIA lately, to write a page about that concert I couldn't attend. - P.S.: The other day I called the Teatro Colosseo and they told me that S. O'Connor is out and instead tonight there's Laurie Anderson! I can't make it, are you going?

Hearing los sempols I think of an acid jazz seasoned with a bit of electronics. Not exactly a novelty, indeed. But in this context, the determining elements are essentially taste and the overall cohesion of the record, the ability to define a personal "style." The comments, in this sense, confirm ZiOn's assessment. In the list "listens with no pretensions of novelty."
Battles Live @ Jail Club Legnano - 03.05.2006

I wrote my little page about Battles a couple of hours after buying the album, and I was already a fan. I wanted to see them live because I had heard great things, so I asked some DeBasici for a report. It arrived from the past, projecting glimpses of the future. Perhaps imagining that the music of the next century will be influenced by Battles is a charming exaggeration driven by enthusiasm: what is certain is that in the present, anyone who loves listening to approaches that aren't too codified must take them into account.

Totally! I'm obsessed with "The time is Now"! A bit of Talking Heads, a bit of B52, a bit of silliness & tackiness.

Mhh... I think I see it like ZiOn. At least regarding the "cheap emotions" mentioned by Leonid. I'm not saying it isn't so, it's just that I don't snub them. Sometimes it's enough that the context in which we operate is clear. And then I don't see the "development" of music, including "rock," to take up Easy's words, necessarily as an evolutionary line, always in search of the "new" or the unpredictable. It's obvious that this particular branch of "rock" offers fewer escape routes than others, but in an apparent desolation of scenery, unexpected alchemies can arise. And sometimes that's all I need. - That said, I just wanted to clarify to Stoopid that only Gathering Pieces lasts 18', the other three long ones are around 8/10. Still not enough to justify Bryan Adams, don't you think? :) - Hi, gentlemen, I bid you farewell, I have a post-rock sleep….

No, no, it was just some little telematic hex. It only gave me an error on those three. Now, going back to it, I'm listening to them. They remind me.... I don't know. There you go, today I feel like an album like that.

Fate or some diabolical electronic ally prevent me from hearing los sempols of this. But I eavesdropped on those of the last one. Delicacy dreamed between slucida. If this wins, I’ll catch it.
