Then you mention Riley (whom I love), but personally, I believe the central figure is Steve Reich. Just a matter of perspective, nothing more. Well, this is nice, it flows like a stream. Not everything you mention is to my taste, but the aroma rising from the dish seems to indicate a flavorful plate that was absolutely unknown to me.
