Fabrizio De André Storia Di Un Impiegato

And my comment is written in a hurry and is full of mistakes. The album is, in my opinion, not among his best: if we give those a 5, this one still comes away with a solid 4. There remains the peculiarity of such an anomalous and strong work, and so, partly due to a kind of affection, one ends up not being able to apply such petty accounting.

As I indicated in the positive review by Francesco Genovese, which doesn’t appear among the other 38 due to a matter of accents, I always find it somewhat reductive, if not trivial, the attempt to "explain" an album like this one. In its very precise placement within a well-defined historical and social context, such as that of those years, it both gains strength and reveals some weaknesses. I am deeply attached to this album as I am to his other works; this one particularly struck me precisely because it coincided temporally with my turbulent adolescence. However, it perhaps represents his most anomalous work and, at times, has aged "worse." As often happens, in the pages dedicated to "Storie di un impiegato," I leave aside the musical element when attempting to analyze the meaning of the lyrics, which are very particular in this album and different from much of De André's production. It is worth remembering that a very young Nicola Piovani worked on these music compositions, and the arrangements, at times (today) "very dated," still manage to convey certain atmospheres—changing and sometimes disorienting—where the lyrics move with their load of enigmatic yet seemingly "direct" images. Another element that should be noted is the use of the voice, a voice increasingly mature and increasingly decisive in conveying the "meaning" of the precise words of a textual surgeon. The review is written with care, but it is a bit too didactic.

Well, I just found out that you are among the literary cases, and so I thank you because I finally have something to say about the work: "Verdi is band music"; 2) "Puccini is always so sensual"; 3) "Wagner, sometimes, is a bit heavy."

Damn, Kosmo, how did you wake up this morning? Come on, there was a sort of "guilty plea" in the request for goodwill: the Court must take it into account, I think. I haven't even downloaded it (I've always found the guy overrated, and all the iconized types of his kind automatically irritate me), and I don’t feel like listening to him. And yes, that of the Ministry is a bit of a flashy nonsense, but for the rest, I’d give a pat on the back to Besito (solidarity for those writing under the conditions described; I do the same).

Anyway, Kyrie, a while ago I highlighted on the homepage, through the "I'm listening to" option, one of your comments in a review of Pink Floyd, because I really liked it and it deserved visibility. Now, since you are very young, at the age of 39, why don't you grant an old-timer like me the pleasure of reading your pyrotechnic imagery more often? Maybe by publishing a few reviews? Here at Villa Arzilla, we would all appreciate it with gratitude.
